This beach is made up of billions of cockle shells in some places layered up to 8 metres and stretching for over 120 kms.

Continuing with my song title week. I had a hard time thinking of a photo idea today. I knew I wanted to include at least one song by Heather Nova (she's one of my favorite artists), so this is what I came up with.
9 exposure HDR with polarizing filters on the main studio lights and a circular polarizer over the camera lens. Designed and fabricated by my sister.

Over the past month, this Shell (excluding truenorth) has been closed to replace the gas tanks and pumps. This photo shows the installation of the new pumps.

A lovely white sea shell nestled in the beach sand .... on my dining room table! The shell is actually about 1 1/2 inches ... both sand and shell came from a 1990s visit to Cuba.
