The Shell Collection, which is specially designed for FueraDentro by the dutch designer Jan des Bouvrie, consists of two chairs, a bank sofa, four tables and a sunbed. The fibers of the chairs, sofa and sunbed are made of Batyline and the frames are made of stainless steel. This combination of materials makes the SHELL collection ideal for outdoor use.
The most notable characteristics of the SHELL collection is the rounded shape of the shelllike bucket seat, which brings a stunning sense of shelter. The seatings are carried out in a coaxial structured Batyline® fibre. The frames are made of electro-polished stainless steel and the tabletops are glass.

We went for an impromptu walk up to the Grotto this afternoon.
The grotto in Pontypool Park was probably built in the late 18th century, although its hey-day came in the early 19th century when the shell decoration for which its interior is now famous was added. The identity of the shell decorator remains something of a mystery. It is possible that Molly Hanbury Leigh was responsible since she is known to have had a shell collection. On the other hand it has also been suggested that the grotto was decorated as part of an employment scheme in 1829-30. The highlight of the grotto's history came in 1882 when the Prince of Wales (later Edward VII) picnicked at the site during a hunting trip. It fell into decline during the 20th century, only to be restored in 1991. Today it is used as a venue for story telling, poetry reading and music recitals. The majority of shells were British mussels, cockles, periwinkles and limpets, accompanied by a few examples of exotic species such as pearl oyster, conch and cowrie. Yesterday we went to Sandspit Point, Bellambi, a beach which we had never visited before.
I was intrigued by the cylindrical object in the middle. It was a cluster of shell fragments.

I've seen these many times - tiny shell covered huts in Grosvenor gardens, close to Victoria station. This morning they looked lovely in the sunshine.
The link below shares lots of information about them, they were built in 1952, and were designed by the then architect-in-chief of the National Monuments and Palaces of France, Jean Moreux.
Most of the shells are still attached - but if you look closely, there are a handful of gaps.

I don't know what the shell in the middle is but the other ones around are Pauas. The interior of these shells is really nice, I might try posting a pic about that soon.
The title is the same of Edward Weston's famous photo of a nautilus shell, my purpose was to acheve the same feeling. Nature, symmetry, shape, lights and shadow. In my opinion the result is good but far from perfection. After all who cares?
Shell beach is made up of millions of tiny shells up to 10 metres deep and stretching for over 40 km.
