Got my gnome sheets on the bed, and it's nice and cold in Baltimore. Dang, it's hard to wake up now.
so i got these cute sheets from target. the store only had king size, so i ordered queen size from the website. they arrived today and i immediately threw them in the laundry. when, i went to put them on the bed, i noticed a couple of holes on the top sheet. !!! booo!!!!! wtf? do you think it happened in the laundry? or were they already like that? darn! now what? my other sheets were in desperate need of washing. i was just waiting for these to arrive. i *so* don't want to put the dirty sheets back on the bed. should i just suck it up and keep them? uggghhhh.
UPDATE: i took the sheets back to target over the weekend and returned them without any trouble. and they had another set in stock. yay! still have to do a quality control check & then wash them, but i should get that done this week. =)
Just inventory-ing a few of my favorite vintage sheet finds. Many of these probably won't be cut anytime soon :)
This is definitely in my top 2 or 3 favorites! It's a KING size! I found it at a goodwill last year!

A batch of sheet music turned up a few months ago. J's been going through it with enthusiasm; it's showtime in our house!
Hand dyed shibori sheets. Super soft cotton. I mades several sets just like this in different colors. They all came out great.
Not too thrilled with the way this part turned out, especially considering the amount of time I spent on it. I cut away part of the fan where my mounting screws would have gone on both lower corners. Also, I cut too much of the corners off on the metal sheet. At this point I knew I'd be redoing this plate.

This was a small section of an old metal sided machine shop; again from the aforementioned mining ruins. Love the colors and textures and lighting on this section of metal.
These photos are the process for felting a sheet of loose fiber with minimal processing into a sheet of felt.
There will be a brief description to follow about the individual steps under each photo, as well as different tags for the different photos.
Starting the process.
I am looking through the fiber as I pull it apart enough to let the various smaller and medium sized pieces of vegetable matter dirt and non fiber fall to the ground in a place it will not be in the way, or cause too many further problems.
The fiber on the right is as yet unsorted or otherwise cleaned. that on the right has been picked some as well as shaken or wind blown to clean it.
