Time between sheets
07/52 Teleidoscope 2014 [tiempo / time/ Zeit]
“Where's the love song?
To set us free
Too many people down
Everything turning the wrong way around
And I don't know what love will be
But if we start dreaming now
Lord knows we'll never leave the clouds
And you've been so busy lately
that you haven't found the time
To open up your mind
And watch the world spinning gently out of time”

This image of Sheet Ice was made in Antarctica along the Peninsula approaching the Gullet Narrows. Ice became too thick for the ship to make the Narrows, and we turned around soon after this image was taken.
the vintage wall papers I used are from Pretty Petals Boutique. I also used vintage sheet music and vintage book pages.
This contact sheet has just been found by my mum - it's from my days at university. I don't know if I still have the negs.
It is Saturday morning – the time when I do my housework. I usually brew myself a wicked pot of coffee, turn the tv onto the music video channel and groove around until my house comes into some kind of order. And while I'm not a huge fan of housework today it has been extra hard.
There are remnants of my all-american boy scattered throughout my house. Pamphlets and receipts and maps and information sheets from all of the adventures we went on, his towel is in the washing basket, as are the shirts he gave me. There are beer bottle caps and an almost empty and now flat bottle of Lift left over from cocktail hour. There is a basket on the verandah with towels and sunscreen and shells left over from our trip to the beach this time last week. The tissues I used to dry my tears on the day he left are still where I dropped them.
Everywhere I look there are reminders of the things we did and said and my illogical brain is trying to convince me that if I leave everything as it is, then everything will stay as it was, and that time will move backwards and he will simply come sauntering through the door.
And then there are the sheets. We made love, made promises, made each other laugh and made plans between these sheets. And I know it sounds incredibly stupid but I can still feel him here, between these sheets with me. So this is me - capturing the moment that I can't keep still in real life.
Me, trying to hold on for just a few more moments....
'Here With Me'
Dido
I wonder how am I still here
And I don't want to move a thing
It might change my memory.
I don't want to call my friends
For they might wake me from this dream,
And I can't leave this bed
Risk forgetting all that's been.
And I won't go
I won't sleep
I can't breathe
I won't leave
I can't hide
I cannot be
Until you're resting here with me
Crews on the Mukilteo Multimodal Terminal Project install sheet piles using a vibratory hammer attached to a crane, which vibrates each pile into the ground. Once utility pipes are installed, these excavated areas will become stormwater vaults, accessible from the surface by manhole covers.
This morning I started to change the sheets at around 6:30 a.m. I took this photo at around 1 p.m. Dixie and Trixie love to sleep on fresh sheets, and I couldn't bring myself to make them move even if they were holding up the process. They get so little sleep that one hates to disturb them . . . . .

My mothers old note books.
The bound book is a collection of folk songs from all over the world. When I started playing the piano I looked through that book, choosing songs after the illustrations and asked her to play them. If I liked them I did my best to learn it by heart. I especially liked the sad melodies of the russian songs.
The really worn out book on top is a collection of classical music and it's been a real favorite of mine. I still play a few of those songs, but my fingers have forgotten parts of them, so I really should open that book again to remind them.

One of the "benefits' of collecting too many records is you get multiple recordings of the same music. I must have about eight versions of the Mozart late symphonies. So I printed out the score for the 39th Symphony, and listened to several of them.
Why?
Just because I could.
Also, I haven't done a hat trick in a while ... so the primary topic was sheet music, but I added a couple of Star Wars pencils, and it was much more fun than working on Labor Day.
If you want to read some music, a great site is imslp.org/wiki/
