This was about a 3-lb roast, seasoned with Uncle Mush's seasoning, salt and pepper. One whole onion, coarsely chopped, and 10 whole cloves of garlic. Five ears of corn were shucked and broken in half and added to the roasting pan with one bottle of Anchor Steam beer and four pats of butter - one place at each end and on each side of the meat. I drizzled in a few drops of liquid smoke, and put the roasting pan, covered, in a 275 degree oven for 6 hours. Use a sharp knife to cut the meat into slices, otherwise it will just shred apart like pulled pork -- unless you want to serve it that way which is fine too.

This young sharpie flushed some Horned Larks from the shore. After a twisting chase over the water, the unsuccessful hunter flew to shore and landed about six metres from where I was sitting - lucky me!
