This is one of a set of photos take Saturday at the San-Lee Park Festival in Sanford, NC. Members of the Triangle Photography Club got to roam the park with cameras in hand taking pictures of people enjoying the festivities. What do you think of the candids here? More to be uploaded throughout the week.
This was a challenging shot. She caught me out of the corner of her eye and did NOT want to look at the camera and have her picture taken. So I adjusted the LCD and went to "live view" while making like I was trying to fix something on the camera. When she took a quick peek to see if the camera was still pointing her way, I fired off a volley, hoping to catch one (This is the best of the group). I purposefully desaturated the image some to make it more cohesive. What do you think?

Flying Cars? The Future of Transportation
Getting around Next Generation Cities: The Shared Future of Transportation
1:20 pm - 2:20 pm MDT on Sunday, June 30, 2013
Transportation is trending from the “me”-mentality of single occupancy vehicles to the “we”-mentality of the sharing economy. Is collaborative consumption the future of transportation? Innovations in peer-sharing transit systems such as bike sharing and car sharing are gaining momentum in cities across the world. Gabe Klein's work in both the public and private sector, and his unique experience launching Divvy Bike Share in Chicago, Capital Bike Share in DC, as well as with Zipcar, make him an authority on the subject. How are these systems providing equitable access to public transit in new ways? What new opportunities does the sharing economy provide? Is this cultural shift presenting a unique opportunity to reconsider the ways that organizations can induce mainstream transportation alternatives, moving toward the new collaborative frontier?

The Chicago Lakefront Trail (LFT) is a 18.5-mile-long (29.8 km) partial shared use path for walking, jogging, skateboarding, and cycling, located along the western shore of Lake Michigan in Chicago, Illinois. The trail passes through and connects Chicago's four major lakefront parks along with various beaches and recreational amenities. It also serves as a route for bicycle, skateboard and personal transporter commuters. On busy summer days 70,000 people use the trail.
The LFT is located wholly within the Chicago city limits and spans from 7100 South/2560 East to 5800 North/1000 West. It is a dedicated-use path, although frequent intersections do pose a threat to path users. These intersections are clearly signed both to path users and motorists. From north to south, it runs through Lincoln Park, Grant Park, Burnham Park, and Jackson Park.
Some attractions along the path (listed from south to north) are the South Shore Cultural Center, the Museum of Science and Industry, McCormick Place, Soldier Field, Chicago's Museum Campus, Monroe Harbor, Navy Pier, Belmont Harbor, and the Waveland Clock Tower. The Lakefront Trail connects most of the Chicago beaches and three skate parks (31st Street, Grant Park, Wilson Avenue). Several dog parks are accessible from the trail.
Path maintenance is provided by the Chicago Park District. The Lakefront Trail is open 24 hours a day, but the parks and beaches along the path close at 11 PM.

Each year, DDB Canada's offices showcases their culture of creativity by hosting Share DDB, a unique fundraising event where staff members contribute items to the silent auction. Items range from photography, paintings and handmade jewellery to rock-climbing lessons, sailing adventures, catered gourmet dinners and more. Anything that can be imagined (and made) can be submitted for staff, their significant others, clients, suppliers and invited guests to bid on.
The proceeds are split between two deserving charities selected by staff. Share DDB 2013 in Vancouver raised $25,000 for two very deserving charities, the James Lee Foundation and Music Heals.
