Only twice a year does this happen, the sun rising right down the middle of the Detroit River, which is the international boundary between the United States and Canada. This view is looking upstream with Detroit’s Renaissance Center on the left, and Windsor’s riverfront on the right. Another example of how our two countries share, and have many things in common.

Roses from my summer garden, such joyful beauties! Hope they also bring you joy to view them my friends =) Best viewed large!
It was a gray day and the light was waning, but I was still able to get a shot of these to gull buddies sharing some prime real estate :)
Lots of rain so many of the fields are flooded.
Nice of these geese and sandhill cranes to share the space!
The cranes were preening, hence the nicely fluffed up feathers.

I just want to share this survivor with you. You don't have to look very close to see his wing is badly damaged. My friend and I first noticed him all alone after all the other shovelers had gone north, in the Spring of 2019. He's a permanent resident now, a survivor, and I'm always torn with compassion and joy when I see him - I'm happy he's still chugging along, but sad he's all alone. I was thinking he'd be happy now with all the migrant shovelers in town, and he has come to the specific area on the lake where they hang out, but he stays a bit aloof, a loner so to speak. Now that I recently witnessed the high-octane male behavior, it's pretty likely he doesn't want to get involved. But he's really handsome, on the other side you'd never know about his handicap. It's not too hard to single him out, as he doesn't head for the far side of the lake at first sight of a human like the others do. He's a survivor, he's adapted to what life dealt him. I can't imagine how his wing was so injured - it's possible he escaped a coyote, I have no idea. But he always makes me smile now, coming up on his third spring with us.

I was down at the riverside on the most beautiful summer evening I have experienced in a while. Temperature in the low 80s, no humidity, and a gentle northerly breeze drew many people down to the park to watch the sun set. A perfect setting for my second photo in Our Daily Challenge.
No matter how large or how small a given space may be there’s always room for colors to share that space. A tree has so much space to share with lots of vivid colors. Look at the colors or shades that Autumn provides us at its peak. A Maple tree is a good example. On a smaller scale look at the most colorful fish in an aquarium. One fish can house several colors within its body. Though many flowers appear to represent basically one color such as a Red Rose, a Yellow Rose etc., this rose caught my attention in that there are no less than two beautiful “Colors Sharing Space” Nature continues to amaze and impress us with miracles (plants, animals and people) that come in many colors yet sharing small spaces. Thanks for viewing my work.
After a while, even the dog begins to compromise with the cat. This is true friendship. Animals teach us.
