Sunny and short (brrrr temperatures) winter walk in Berlin's government district along the Spree, and more "This is a black and white scene" photography. I mentioned earlier that, most of the time, I just take the shot and decide later if I process an image in colour (most of the time) or black and white (more often recently). V-Shape - Red-shouldered Hawk launching before feeding on insects. I love this pose as it clearly shows the red shoulders that this species is named after. Often times it is difficult to see the red shoulders clearly when the bird is perched.
It was a special experience observing this bird feeding for around 2 hours by the coast. In over a decade of photography I have never had such an opportunity photograph an adult of this species up close as they usually tend to be quite skittish.

Watching clouds swirl around nearby mountains from the summit of Mount Catherine. Tinkham's two peaks are seen here.
The variety and shapes of icebergs is endless and like snowflakes, no two are alike. I particularly like the older blue disintegrating icebergs with their fantastic shapes. This berg had beautiful blue caves, The mountains of Jameson Land are in the background. Hall Bredning, Scoresby Sund, East Greenland.
