Parque das Nações, Lisbon, Portugal
Our trip to Portugal gave me a chance to capture a few more autumn photos ... even though Keefer Lake is white with snow ... it is autumn in Lisbon. The bold colours of autumn in the leaves were complemented by the colours of the tiles in the pool and both of these were enhanced by the reflective qualities of the light in the water. There was no need to add any colour saturation in processing - a bit of contrast adjustment and sharpening was all that was called for here.
I was attracted to both the line and more importantly the colour contrasts in this tiled pool in the Parque das Nações. I have mentioned before that I tend to see shapes (when I photograph) regardless of the subject. Whether I am looking at a person, a tree, a sunrise, a building or a bug, I often see the patterns and the shapes that light, shadow, texture and colour form ... sometimes even before I am aware of the subject? This is one of those rare scenes (in my experience) where colour is the principle quality that forms the shapes that I first see.
I'm on the road again ... in Toronto for a couple of days.

Up at the cottage to make some progress on 'the shed project', there was some time to take in one of those glorious Huron Sunsets. This one was just starting to shape up about 30min before official sunset.
I've created a shape to go with the look shown in the "For a Little Less - Episode 4" blog post, at a lower price than usual, because that made sense.
