Glacier Pt. Sunset at Yosemite National Park

Vargas Plateau Regional Park in Fremont California.

A little extra shutter time and some ICM (intentional camera movement), give fluid motion to this simple city walk. Light and color tones define shapes - real and implied - adding energy and visual interest to what would otherwise be sort of ho-hum. Well anchored on the horizontal with the short walls, it leaves the rest of the image to indulge in altered reality.

Ocean Beach just keeps gifting stories of delight as they unfold along the edge of our continent. Light and color and earth's creatures gather strategically.

Brake Lights nicely punctuate the city scene blurred with a longer shutter speed and some camera motion (ICM). The city becomes a grid of shapes rising upward - indistinct but retaining some identifiable patterns. Color and light bath the scene in rich hues that contrast warm and cool.

A reflection paints a hundred words and tells a story of a boat. Rich blue ripples frame wavering masts and the hull of the boat. The crop suggest an immpossible perspective until my brain re-orders its thinking. Even at dock, a sense of motion permeates. Quiet energy keeps company as it awaits the next adventure.

Redwood Park

A multiple exposure doubles the beauty of the stately redwoods. Three colors dominate and contribute warmth and coolness creating a bit of energy. Nice depth hints at more and more trees. Strong verticals anchor the scene while motion dances a bit with abandon.

Two of a Kind

A complex pattern of shadows spread in a dramatic array across the facade of a building. Two knobs hide in the confusion waiting to be discovered. Strong textures add to the interest. Monochorome keeps the complexity of the designs easier to visualize and enjoy.

Playing with perspective always nets something interesting. Contrast adds to the drama - black against white. Anticipation of the next step denotes motion. Flying flags add to atmosphere. Lot's of good elements at play to complete the story.
