Following the light leads to magical scenes comprised of the most simple elements. Here diagonal sweeps of light and color and elements within the frame make for a dramatic scene in the most unlikely spot. An otherwise dark warehouse turns inviting. Warm and cool join the dance as patterns are born out of repetition. Strong verticals anchor the image and warm and cool hues offer energy. Urban fragments tell a fairly complete story.

Words seem to be losing meaning in today's world and this photograph represents the duplicity of almost everything we see and hear.. Reality overlaps reality keeping some clarity but still the choice of where to focus must be made as I sort through edges. Rough texture adds emphasis and light patterns with black and white making its stark point.

Mixing altered reality - those reflections that live within 'reality' as we think of it - creates a little mystery. It makes me lean in and explore the elements - the patterns - the way lines and shapes fit together to form a new reality. Lovely colors create energy and the diagonal drape makes me curious about what hides inside. Nice balance within the frame with spatial relationships dancing to a new tune.

An extra - his elbow pointing my eye inward - adds a whimsical touch. Monochrome keeps it simple - it's all about shapes and tones and contrast. And the story.

Warm color permeate and let her stand out in the stark blackness of her attire. The yellow diamond points my eye into the image but it is her, and the art she approaches, that holds my eye fast.

A panel of windows separates space and when I look through I see textures and reflections and colors that I want to explore. The bold frame with 'peek-a-boo' views anchors the shot with a solid feel. Each panel is related but unique and invites a closer look. Rich color help definte space and form. Spatial relationships are absent but also not needed in this abstract view.

Often, for me, light is reason enough to click the shutter. Diagonal swooshes and patterns at play joined on the vertical plane draws my eye and makes me stop and consider. Textures and colors add substance for visibility, a louvered window adds insterest, an anchor and together with slight nuances of color, it is enough. Click.

Color forms an intended triangle that anchors this street shot. Hues of red knit together pieces of the scene. She is the focal point, as humans usually are, and combined with her brightly lit bike, form the focal point. Strong vertical lines form a frame within a frame while intricate diagonals add interest and a feel of motion. Hot and cool add energy. But it is the light, choosing to dance within the frame at random that makes my eye want to explore the frame.

Fluttering wings caught my eye - that and the sound of music catching my ear - brought me to the perfect spot to capture the action. A musician serves as the focal point with a supporting cast of fluttering feathered friends. Shutter speed captures both crisp focus and allows movement to show. The birds create whimsical patterns and an implied diagonal line to draw interest to the frame. The shot is well anchored by columns that serve as a backdrop to the action. Shot from almost ground level, the perspective brings me into the action. Rich details aplenty. There is enough in the frame to keep the eye busy exploring. And maybe one can even hear the music.

Nice weighting with details and open spaces. Simple color tones let the content speak clearly without color disruption. If you don't hear it, that's okay. It called out to me and I answered.
Not a composite - as shot :-)

Wisps of people passing by reflect their presence in their altered reality. They join a series of doors and a red jacketed person who ends up as the focal point. Color often does that - especially when combined with a human figure. Vertical lines form a powerful pattern and give home to the reptition of doorways that is offset by the light they cast on the shadowed floor where more patterns emerge. Then come the array of horizonal lines that dance above the scene - a totally different type of structure casting its own patterns of dark and light. It is the light that ignites everything here and gives depth and a 3-D look. The slight arc of a curve adds more depth as well as serving as the anchor for the space.

Warmth permeates the scene in contrast to the shadowy atmosphere. Details emerge - just enough to give context to locale. She is framed within a frame by bold geometry - both real and painted by light.

An upward sweep of ICM, intentional camera movement, catches the light and color of details with its strong vertical pull. Faint horizontal patterns anchor the shot. A limited color palette keeps things simple with exposure only revealing what's necessary to make the story. It's a bit mysterious but complete enough to recognize and allows a viewer to contemplate elements in context.
