This cute little wooden sewing machine was a gift to me from a very good friend who brought it back from Cartegena Columbia. The drawer on the front opens and there are tiny spools of thread inside.

April Theme - "Knick-Knacks"

A quilt on my longarm sewing machine. A long arm is a very big frame that a very fast sewing machine with a very deep neck sit on and can be moved in every direction on. You stretch the quilt over it, rolling up the extra ready to unroll as you need it on on poll and roll up what you finished on another poll as you go. The sewing machine quilted is "sandwiched" on these polls so that the sewing machine or longarm machine has free run to sew all over it. The Longarm Machine i have is only a small model. The frame itself is 12 feet in length, which is standard. The sewing machine is only 18 inches and sews over 2000 stitches a minute. Which is average. They come as big as 30 inches or more and cost more than a really nice car.

I know, more information that anyone needs. :) but it's all good.

this is the vintage fleur desk i've been using for the sewing room.

Finished Sewing Machine Cover for the Modernista Homemade Swap.

I blogged about it here.

Sewing theme 4x4 Art. I started with a sewing pattern stuck onto the base and built up from there with a stamped image, tape measure, buttons, studs, lace and a printed image on top.

Introducing a new arch: the Sewing Machine. This little arch, probably with a 5 foot opening or more, sits on a bench in Tongue Valley below West Tongue Viewpoint. Cute, isn't it? This is probably the first photograph of it. Laurent Martres saw it first, then I got closer to take a picture. The slight telephoto makes it look closer than it was.

Katie keeps a close eye (and paw) upon my last winter-themed embroidery project of the year. Finished it last week, IIRC, and used it once this year. That's fine; I'm MORE than happy to bring the spring things out, and it has, to tell you the truth, truly, truly felt like Spring here for several weeks now.

Have a wonderful weekend, all!

A pretty basic cover. Used canvas I already had on hand. The best part is the fabric by Aunty Cookie.

My sewing room has never been completely ... completed. Here is what it currently looks like. I recently painted the wooden shelving orange (thanks dad for building them!)

still stitching the binding... lots going on around here.

At last I am sewing again for my Blythes. It has been simply ages since I have sewn for my dolls that I was more that a little worried that I might have forgotten everything I ever knew........which wasn't a lot in the first place. But *yippee* I am thrilled with the result.

Lucky Melanie got to wear the dress first.

I used a pattern by Susan from the 'DollyDelicacies' shop on Etsy and finishing touches by Eva from her pattern in the 'TirinAndKatten' shop on Etsy.

found this little bowl in a thrift store in Helsinki. I love it.
