The Irish Setter is a high-spirited gundog known for grace, swiftness, and a flashy red coat. They are famously good family dogs: sweet-tempered companions for the folks, and rollicking playmates and tennis-ball fetchers for the children.
i think this may be the first time since december (when we got jackson) that they have all been in one room...at least without one in a crate (jackson of course!).
i know that the quality of this is not wonderful, but i do like the cats being bookends with jackson in the middle...i can just see the bubble above his head, "who do i chase first?"
i really believe that jackson wants to play with the cats, he just hasnt quite figured out how. he just wags his tail and stares...i guess that is a step in the right direction!
Sporting Group: The English Setter is a medium-sized sporting dog of sweet temper and show-stopping good looks. It is one of the AKC's four British setters created to work on the distinctly different terrains of England, Ireland, and Scotland. English Setters are elegant but solid dogs of beauty and charm.
I wish I had caught some catch light in his eyes and I cant' quite seem to adjust the shadows to my liking but I had to post it anyway. I love the way his paws look under water.
He gets hot on our walks and if there's water, he will lie down in it, no matter the quality or the temperature.

This was our first ever family overseas holiday in the summer of 1983. I was 13 years old. This was either East Midlands Airport, or Birmingham Airport. I don't remember which - but it clearly taken on the 'tarmac' of the airport. Destination is the Spanish island of Majorca.
Dad is squinting as he is probably worrying if Mum has the camera setting correct. I can't imagine such a blatant photo being taken today without an official requesting not to.
