The English Setter is an elegant, medium-sized sporting dog known as the "gentleman of the dog world" for its mild-mannered and friendly disposition. Originally bred in England over 400 years ago for bird hunting, these dogs are famous for their unique "setting" stance, where they crouch low to indicate the presence of game.

jackson was looking up the steps at achilles (one of the cats) and this very long string of drool began to form...and i immediately went for my camera. thankfully, me sitting in his face did not stop him, and the drool just got longer. it was hard to get an angle that really showed it, but i think this shot was most successful.

Most days when I've been home and not working I've done some kind of drawing. I'm trying to build up some stock and extend my range of pictures available, and this is a drawing of a red setter (I hope you can recognise that - it looks a big 'spanielly' to me!!)
Boomer spends a good share of his day in this very spot. He used to get so dusty and dirty so I put a piece of old carpeting under him.
