The name of Sete Cidades, "Seven Cities," goes back to a legend since there is only one sleepy village in the caldera, population 850. The name has been given after the seven cities of mythical Atlantis.

Sete Cachoeiras Estate was the main purpose of our visit to Brazil. The reason we wanted to visit this farm in particular is because it is one of approximately 15 farms in Brazil that are certified Rainforest Alliance.
