I spent a lot of time in Sète when I was younger. I went through high school over there. It's a lovely place and wierdly enough, only last summer did I visit Sète with my camera ! This view is from the old St-Louis lighthouse top !

Sete Cidades is an active volcano that sits on the western part of the island. There are a number of hikes around the caldera and to various viewpoints.

As grandes paisagens que morrem a alguma parte hão-de ir ter... Deus colocou-a aqui, delicada e virgem, no fundo desta cratera tremenda, entre o fogo e o caos; rodeou-a de solidão e de montes: pôs-lhe à volta, para a defender, o mar. Mas sente-se que tem saudades e tenta quebrar o encanto: envolta em névoa ligeira, sonha, flutua e queda-se um pouco triste: quer ser ainda mais aérea - vai estremecer, desaparecendo no éter...
