A summer session with natural light in the morning. A short behind the scenes is available at the following link: youtu.be/emq1fQ4B0xs

This was my first maternity session, and we had so much fun! It was a first for all of us :) so we had to work through the first few minutes of being unsure, but as soon as we started discussing the new baby-to-be it was just fun and laughs and relaxed.

NEW SERIES: BRUCE

I have the chance to share some old work that I was keeping on ice for a bit. A while back, a dear friend (and fellow photographer) asked me about doing a photoshoot for his website and Facebook profile picture. I thought this was a great time to do something a bit different, as well as help out a friend. It's funny but if you had asked me a few years ago about portraiture, I would have been skeptical of my abilities. But there's nothing like jumping into a project with an open mind.

Photographing Bruce was pretty easy as we've been friends for such a long time. If I had to sum it up, I'd say it was more about two old friends having a conversation with a camera present. The hardest part was probably getting him to relax a bit and forget about the camera. I must admit that I am not a fan of directing my models, opting for personality over perfection. I prefer my client to see themselves or for their loved ones to recognize "that little thing they do with their head".

Breakout Session: Connectivity

Technology is one of the defining forces of our collective future, reshaping the way we learn, innovate, and connect with one another. Today, new digital technologies and advancements—such as the Internet of Things, smart devices, artificial intelligence, and the block chain—are increasingly changing the concept of connectivity itself and enhancing our ability to maximize human potential. The strategies we design and the investments we make will impact how equitably access to these innovations is shared—and how drastically livelihoods will be improved as a result.

How can we bridge the digital divide of today and harness the potential of connectivity to impact our societies, environment, and economies of tomorrow?

Photo session gone wrong..... or better I am glad I had some memory left on the "stick".

We had our usual photo session with the Cali family at the beach. After it was all set and done I was packing up my gear. Cali came over and she was looking at my bag of "stuff". I picked one of the shoot through umbrellas and opened it up for her and... as you can see the rest is history.

I used Lightroom 3 to give the pictures the treatment..... Love it... I hope I do not bore you with it....

More pictures in the first comment....

Thank you everybody for your comments and suggestions.....:-)

About an hour after my rushed 20 minute session, I felt the need to to have another go. I had put a few summer dresses aside that I found in the loft. I tried about 5 before popping out for a drink. My make-up was far below par but it was a hot day and both make-up and me were both melting!

Just felt like putting up another one.
