This is a turkey from the petting zoo/farm and creamery where I like to go, he was pardoned last year. This year...I don't know.

The weather's turned very wet and I can't get out in the garden, so for something completely different
:-)) here's a picture of Suki asking, in her own way for cat treats. She absolutely loves these cushion shaped feline delights which she would eat all day long if given the chance.

At the age of 16 years Cleo occasionally still likes to play provided that she doesn't have to move too much. Lifting a paw and trying to catch a feather is okay, though. :)
I took this photo for the Happy Caturday theme "Adjectives" and post another capture of this photoshoot in the comments.
On our last visit to Killarney in January we were lucky enough to have a family of four Tawny Frogmouths roosting in the trees. I was unable to get a decent shot of the four of them together, but did get some nice portraits. This is my favourite.

She has a rather serious look on her face.When I first took the shot I thought she was scowling at me,but no she was looking away.I think this is the first vaper I have ever photographed,had heaps of smokers though.I tried this method when I was trying to get off the dreaded weed and it was ok,better than the alternative I suppose,but the best thing of all is being rid of that nicotine kick once and for all.I have never looked back and only wish I had kicked the habit a lot sooner.

I saw these birds in a large puddle down at Hamilton waterfront. I had my large Sony with the large lens on (which was good) but no tripod to help steady the beast (which was not good)
Half of them good and half not.
Hearing of Glen Campbell's passing has bothered me. I do feel sad when any great musician passes, but he was seriously one very important musician. Part of the wrecking crew in L.A. and very influential. Good friend to Alice Cooper.
A horrible thing for a family to go through. His Daughter wrote this song and it is moving. You WILL get a tear in your eye.

When it comes to abandoning places, the old miners are high on the list of offenders. The West, particularly Nevada and the California Foothills is littered with their old abodes--sometimes entire towns. The miner typically followed the cycle of boom and bust, choosing to move on when their claim went bust. Here, two old cabins decompose in the woods of Nevada County. They actually look like they might have been pretty upscale digs at one time--for a miner.
