A juvenile grey butcherbird has decided this rock in the pond area I'm building is a great song post. He/she has visited it many times a day over this past week and stands there warbling away. The song is so beautiful and varied, it's a joy to hear. To me, it's another sound synonymous and strongly connected with life here in Australia.
They also hunt by sitting on open perches. Once prey is sighted, they pounce, so perhaps this rock is also offering a good base from which to hunt small animals, such as lizards.

Lurking just inside from my back door, I shot this footage of a juvenile Pied Butcher Bird serenading me to go outside and feed her. The performance lasted for about 6 minutes before she gave up and flew away. This is the last part of her performance, but she was back a few minutes later, when I relented and gave her some food.
Oune piti touurr dé machie...ou comment sla raconter!... :-))

You can’t see him but to the far left there is a photographer videotaping this performance. Yep, that’s right! I crashed another photo shoot. These musicians were quite good, though. It would have been nice to hear an entire performance rather than just the few bars of whatever piece they were playing for the recording.
Just liked the arrangement of the two ladies and the matching blues were a happy coincidence. Seen in Shoreditch.
I had the opportunity to shoot a high school senior who wanted photos taken with him and his horse Newt. I loved Newt and many best wishes for a great future for this young man. He is also an awesome fiddle player who played a tune for Newt.
So nice of Flickr to totally delete my other account. You said you were going to delete photo, not my whole account.
A new song. More on the professional level. A great deal of work.

Chickadees are too fast for me, I can never catch them in an interesting pose! This cutie was quite chatty, she was chasing a nuthatch trying to steal her sunflower seeds!
Sunset at the SAC Blümlisalp Hut: for a brief moment, it was possible to believe that one was in Switzerland....
Not the sharpest photo of the day but I really enjoyed the scenery.
I hope she said YES!

Such a surprise when I stepped outside this afternoon,
to be greeted by this symphonic serenade,
accompanied by a bird singing up in the tree (listen closely) . . .
I'm also seeing an ice sculpture of an animal figurehead . . .
almost like a pig!
ENJOY the simple gifts of nature on a very cold February day
here in beautiful New England!
Late at night and not many in the streets but a man and his Sanshin(3 strings) instrument. And a little bit of alcohol.
