I had a bag of sequins in my purse that I forgot about.... the bag got a hole and they exploded all over my purse! You should see the bottom of my purse. I've been leaving sparkles everywhere I go.
So I figured what better to do for Bokeh Wednesday!
Happy Bokeh Wednesday Everyone!

Sequins are disk-shaped beads used for decorative purposes. In earlier centuries, they were made from shiny metals. Today, sequins are most often made from plastic. They are available in a wide variety of colors and geometrical shapes. Sequins are commonly used on clothing, jewelry, bags, shoes and many other accessories.

To borrow a phrase from the Catholic Worker movement, laments aid in “clarification of thought.” Whether traditional or newly composed, prayers of lament articulate in precise ways how things have fallen apart. Brought before God, they enable us to see clearly what is wrong, to specify fractures in systems and relationships that destroy us, and to realize ourselves how our lives are barren.
Laments empower sufferers to speak for themselves. When we tell how desperate we are, we become actors in the world. No longer passive recipients of pain, we become agents who name and interpret reality. Slowly such speaking may alter our relationship to suffering and release energies to act. Naming suffering before God reclaims human dignity and power that has been trampled and violated. Speaking pain, perhaps repeatedly, “like a broken record,” can move sufferers toward healing, because it brings denial to a halt and enables truth to come to the surface.

This Christmas bauble was hand beaded with sequins and pins by me. I have a Christmas tradition. I bead Christmas baubles for a select group of friends every year.
Each bauble is 15 centimetres in diameter and contain hundreds of sequins, varying in number depending upon the complexity of the pattern and the type of sequins I use. Most sequins in this bauble are 4mm in diameter, except the stars, which are 3mm and the sunburst sequins which are 6mm. The sunburst sequins are French and are known as "éclate de soleil" - "sunbursts". Depending upon the colour of the sequin, I will use either a gold or a silver pin to attach it to the bauble. I always leave the "éclate de soleil" - "sunbursts" until last, allowing a gap in the sequin chain to pin them in.
These baubles are smaller than some others I do, and because it is a simple pattern which starts from the inside and is worked outwards in ever larger circles, each bauble takes approximately 1 1/2 to 2 hours per side.
It is however, a labour of love which I do to pass the time throughout the year.

I have a quart jar full of round sequins of several sizes and lots of colors. Most of these (I would say at least 80%) are left over from the multitude of projects and ornaments I have made over the last 50+ years.
Looking Close... on Friday!
Thank you in advance for views comments and faves all very much appreciated.
