Sharp little buggers
I love me some sequins. (Sparkly! Shiny! Caw caw!) But sequins do not like delicate fabrics.
As we anticipate party season, I have to remind myself that sequins eat tights. I noticed that the metal buggers had nearly worn through the thighs of my kitty cat tights after wearing them around the house for fifteen minutes or so. I sprayed the worn spotswith hairspray and managed to make it though the night without a complete hosiery failure.

Gold beaded sequin top with black crushed satin full skirt replete with full petticoats. In the lobby during intermission of a show. It sure is fun to get dressed up all glamed up !
Finally got around to editing some pictures in this rather lovely sequinned dress I found on a sale rail a couple of years back.... couldn't resist the polka-dot tights yet again...
This Christmas bauble was hand beaded with sequins and pins by me. I have a Christmas tradition. I bead Christmas baubles for a select group of friends every year.
Each bauble is 15 centimetres in diameter and contain hundreds of sequins, varying in number depending upon the complexity of the pattern and the type of sequins I use. Most sequins in this bauble are 5mm in diameter, except the butterflies which are 12mm and the flowers which are 8mm in diameter. Depending upon the colour of the sequin, I will use either a gold or a silver pin to attach it to the bauble. I always leave the flowers until last, allowing a gap in the sequin chain to pin them in.
These baubles are smaller than some others I do, and because it is a simple pattern which starts from the inside and is worked outwards in ever larger circles, each bauble takes approximately 1 1/2 to 2 hours per side.
It is however, a labour of love which I do to pass the time throughout the year.
I took a clear Christmas Tree ornament and poured in some sequins. I put it atop a framed Christmas card that Lyndon and Lady Bird Johnson sent to my father. The artist of the card was the well-known watercolorist Robert Laessig.
It would make a nice Christmas card.
Created for a New Year's Eve wedding, this cake is done in white chocolate copper sequins. The luster dust didn't show up so well in this photo, but the shimmer effect in person worked well for the festive ocassion.
There’s something about sequins. One of those materials you don’t get normal boys clothes made of. Really brings your femininity home
