For Smile on Saturday sequence/progression

"The idea does not replace the work."

(Max Weber)

Smile on Saturday!:-)

4 photos prises le même jour sur le même arbuste. 4 photos taken the same day on the same tree.

Colorful stools at the park, progressing in size and changing in colors.

Water cascades before a grove of Mountain Ash trees.

Toorongo Falls, Victoria.

Seven frame Barn Owl sequence, a bit of lockdown fun with Photoshop

pose longue entre les ponts d'Orléans

Developmental stages of the Asian ladybeetle (Harmonia axyridis).

For "Smile on Saturday" ; theme : "sequence/progression".

Another frame from the sequence with full wing spread. Given the lighting condition around sunset, I am glad the full frame camera brought out the details from this images.

Bridport, Tasmania.

Greylag Geese, looks like a sequence but it is actually four geese and although brilliant in flight they always look clumsy when landing and taking off, I could watch them all day. This shot was taken in Northumberland.

Volcano Etna, lava front in the valley called "Valle del Bove".

I was taking photographs of the female hawk in the tree when the male swooped up

# A PIECE OF A RECORDED ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE SEQUENCE SHOT IN TEXAS BY MR. TRONA [WITH A HANDHELD CAM], MAY 2016

A sequence of the blood moon eclipse

Ugh, this one took over four hours to setup. This shells are tiny. Cleaning the shells, selecting the right one, oiling them up, so they would not dry out during the set up was time consuming. More so, as the setup collapsed and shells hit the carpet and collected all kinds of fibers. I had to ditch the first attempts and start from scratch.

Broken Sequence - taken at low tide on West Wittering beach, UK, on a perfect blue sky afternoon in January.

NB the Kestrel did not move forward at all - I've had to displace each picture to show the sequence of wing movements.

Oupss excusez moi, c'est plus fort que moi, le besoin impérieux de poster des photos de feuilles !

These sequins were one one of my Wife's Cardigans....

A group of people were jumping off this rock some distance away from where my kids were swimming at Boat Harbour Beach, Tasmania. I got this sequence of shots with a 400mm lens, so I thought i'd stitch them together.

I uploaded a similar image earlier in my photostream (about 10 images back).

Third in a sequence of a Mourning Dove closing it's eyes just as it strikes what it's pecking at. They always do that, I don't know if other birds do it or not.

This is the third of a sequence of three showing this dove preparing to peck/strike, then closing it's eyes just as it strikes what it's pecking at, then after the peck/strike.

The Chase Is On - An adult male Golden Eagle pursues a California Ground Squirrel after missing his initial strike.

I was fortunate to witness an amazing moment of natural history when a Golden Eagle dropped down on this squirrel and actually chased his prey down on foot in an attempt to catch it.

This is the first image of the sequence that I captured of the eagle generating momentum with his wings and lunging at the squirrel. Typically, I see Golden Eagles moving rather awkwardly on land but this individual moved with agility and purpose.

I have been photographing Golden Eagles since 2013 and spent countless hours watching them soar, hunt and rest. At last I managed to document a hunting sequence in the wild last Christmas Eve.

Species: Golden Eagle (Aquila chrysaetos) + California Ground Squirrel (Otospermophilus beecheyi)

Location: San Benito County, CA, USA

Equipment: Nikon D850 + 200-500mm f5.6 ED VR, Handheld

Settings: 1/1600s, ISO: 360, f/5.6, +0.3 EV

It was a long-time dull drizzle and dark sky so I decided to use my 85mm 1.8 lens and didn't expect the birds to be so cooperative. Too short for telephoto I thougt. :)

Layers arranged in GIMP.

Thanks to everyone for your visiting, favs & comments :).
