On Thursday, Dec. 3rd, CABBI researchers used a Sweco Separator to wash oilcane bagasse harvested from the Illinois Energy Farm in fall 2020. Immediately after the washing step, the material is dried and adjusted to the correct moisture levels; cleansing the biomass of lingering sugars optimizes performance in the fermentation and pretreatment phases that follow.

The SuperFine Classifier : For accurate micron - sized work.

  

SuperFine separators are designed for precise classification of superfine products having a top size of 10 microns.

 

They are widely used in the food, pharmaceuticals, limestone, cosmetics, plastics and many other dry process materials.

 

As in the Whirlwind classifiers, the feed discharges onto the rotating distributing plate and is hurled outward through the interior chamber.

 

The ascending airstream passes through a specially designed multiblade rejector rotating at higher speeds and permitting only the lower micron particles to follow the air currents to the fines chamber.

  

SuperFine separators are built in three sizes and two different types: Standard SuperFine where the air circulates in closed circuit within the air classifier and the Tangential SuperFine where the air with the fine product is discharged tangentially from the fan chamber and recirculated to the separator through an external cyclone collector.

 

In the Standard SuperFine, used commonly in the chemical and limestone industries, the change of fineness is achieved by adjustments of the number of the rejector blades.

 

In the Tangential SuperFine an external control device permits changes in product fineness without the need to shut down to change rejector blades. It is used commonly in the flour milling industry to produce a variety of flours for the bakeries and cereal industries.

Red Wolf Global transported an High Pressure Separator from Thailand's main port, Laem Chabang, in Chonburi to the eastern Thailand province of Rayong.

 

The shipment traveled from Hamburg, Germany’s largest port, which took approximately 30 days to reach Thailand.

 

The HP Separator a 67 tons is a separation device that is used in the cement industry for grinding systems equipped with tube mills, roller mills and high pressure grinding rolls.

 

Once the HP Separator arrived at the Laem Chabang port, two 120 mt cranes were used to lift off the 67 tons HP separator and positioning on the low bed six axle truck trailer.

 

Due to the weight of the cargo, police permission for required for the road transport. The Red Wolf Global team this permission as well as a police escort for the 75 km trip from Laem Chabang port to Rayong province. The Red Wolf Global Thailand team had located a special truck trailer due to the cargo weight.

 

Once the HP Separator arrived at the destination, our team used two 120 mt cranes to lift off the HP Separator and position it to its new home at the TPI Polene company in Rayong province.

The expansion of the charging infrastructure in Germany and the higher performance of electric vehicles present new challenges for manufacturers of conductor rails, charging infrastructure and battery systems. High dielectric strength, partial discharge resistance and small component sizes are the requirements of the automotive industry and plant manufacturers for charging stations for electric vehicles.

For highly integrated components with high field strengths, the homogeneity of the applied layer is particularly important, since variations in the layer thickness have a direct effect on the dielectric strength of the material. The dielectric strength is largely dependent on the diameter and dielectric properties of a material.

For the production of multilayer current-carrying systems, film technology is mainly used for the insulation of conductive layers. The film technology is characterized by high homogeneity in the layer thickness. A high homogeneity of the layer is necessary because air inclusions can cause pre-discharges which ionize the surrounding air and make a breakdown more likely. In addition, surrounding insulation materials are permanently damaged by ultraviolet radiation.

The edge area in the foil technology must be reworked. The following methods are used for this:

 

Open Mould

 

In the open mold process, the insulator layers overlap the metal layer in the edge area, but do not enclose it, so that the full potential of the different current-carrying layers is present in the side area. Depending on the applied field strength, the air in the edge area is ionized, which can lead to arcs or damage to the material by ultraviolet radiation at higher electrical field strengths. The process is characterized by low manufacturing costs and is designed exclusively for use in switch cabinets and dry applications with low field strengths.

 

Potting

 

Similar to the Open Mould process, the insulator layer overlaps the metal layer at the edges. The current-carrying layers are sealed by casting compound and subsequent finishing of the edges. Problems can arise due to air inclusions which lead to damage of the insulator by ultraviolet radiation. Depending on the material, the process is designed for higher field strengths.

 

Closed Mould

 

In the Closed Mould process, the protruding film is pressed and thus completely seals off the current-carrying levels at the sides. It is important to avoid air inclusions at the edges.
