Got these at Shoppers while picking up eyeliner and mascara for the road. The lady there introduced me these products and I was like, why not? I gained 15,000+ points on my Optimum card for my purchases today. What a deal! And it was all unplanned.
I've been guilty of asking my spouse, "What's for dinner?" first thing when I get home. Now I don't dare. Faber-Castell Pitt artist pens and Winsor artists watercolors (half pans) on Aquarius II paper.
The lamp in the corner of the room is wonderful but unfortunately it has that good old Target quality and is very sensitive. I keep a remote dimmer in my desk drawer to control the light's brightness and turn it on and off, never have to touch the lamp itself (good thing because that switch is holding on by a prayer). Also in this shot you can see some little white lights on the boxwoods on our terrace (far left). I use another battery-operated wireless remote here to turn those lights on and off, never have to go out in the cold for that again.

This nidikumba flower had just got up & started glittering in the first rays of the sun when I payed attention to her charming beauty....
It was packaged as a "Space Plant" for kids to plant it in that tiny egg. We were happy it grew. Then, it grew quickly and we realized it was a sensitive plant. Touch the leaves and they close up. We were surprised to see these flowers bloom so quickly too. It is really getting tall. I hope it lasts.

This plant looks like a minature version of Partridge Pea, and they are in the same genus. It gets its name from how it's leaves fold up when touched.

I'm a big fan of the seemingly utterly random mix of magazine covers like a time-sensitive tapestry snapshot of today's society. Check out your local high street kiosk and you'll see what I mean.
Sensitive ferns like sun and shade and moist soil but will also grow in clay. This one came from a big clump in Larry Smith and Naomi Van Tol's yard in midtown Memphis. Made for the Oxford Double Decker Festival, 2007
These are the fertile leaves. What look like beads are leaves that have tightly wrapped themselves, and contain spores that will be distributed when the leaves crack. aka "Bead Fern"

Spotted while on a hike on the Kings Creek Loop Trail (4.4 mile) at the Konza Prairie. I did conquer the scary footbridge at the entrance and was glad I did. The views along the trail were amazing. I wish the shadows weren't so heavy on the front buds, but I decided to post anyway since the pink flowers are the stars of this shot.
