A mounted policewoman takes a selfie with a friend near the start of the 2017 Portland Oregon Rose Festival Grand Floral parade.
The Grand Floral parade is one of the largest annual events in Portland, and always includes many equestrian units. It's tradition that parade riders decorate the back of their saddles with a bouquet of roses and the mounted police is no different.
Sadly this was the last time the Portland mounted police would be riding in the parade, and maybe the reason for this selfie, as the mounted unit was disbanded shortly later that year due to budget cuts.

Decided I hadn't done a selfie shot yet so I'd put one in. Thought I might do a selfie for each month, but not always in the direct sense. There's an annoying bit of light on my side of my face near my eye that I tried to darken up but gave up as it didnt look right!
