Week 8 in 52 Weeks for Dogs
Taivas is well used to my whims for her photo each week but she did find this one tried her patience. She adopted the 'if I don't look at them I won't eat them' attitude. Even so, I had to replace a cookie during the photo shoot when temptation got the better of her.

You call me out upon the waters
The great unknown where feet may fail
And there I find You in the mystery
In oceans deep
My faith will stand
I will call upon Your name
And keep my eyes above the waves
When oceans rise my soul will rest in your embrace
For I am Yours and You are mine
Your grace abounds in deepest waters
Your sovereign hand
Will be my guide
Where feet may fail and fear surrounds me
You've never failed and you won't start now
So I will call upon Your name
And keep my eyes above the waves
When oceans rise
My soul will rest in your embrace
For I am Yours and You are mine
Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders
Let me walk upon the waters
Wherever You would call me
Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander
And my faith will be made stronger
In the presence of my Savior
I will call upon Your Name
Keep my eyes above the waves
My soul will rest in Your embrace
I am Yours and You are mine
Let Everything Praise the LORD
150 Praise the LORD!
Praise God in his sanctuary;
praise him in his mighty heavens!
2 Praise him for his mighty deeds;
praise him according to his excellent greatness!
3 Praise him with qtrumpet sound;
praise him with flute and harp!
4 Praise him with tambourine and dance;
praise him with strings and pipe!
5 Praise him with sounding cymbals;
praise him with loud clashing cymbals!
6 Let everything that has breath praise the LORD!
Praise the LORD!

And don't let go
Walk with me
And never leave
Ever close God abide with me

Before the cross
Before the nails
Overwhelmed
Alone You prayed
You met us in our suffering and bore our shame

Love that will not ever let me go
You never let me go
Love that will not ever let me go

Abide with me
We'll weep no more and sing for joy

As a remedy to life in society I would suggest the big city. Nowadays, it is the only desert within our means.
At 30 a man should know himself like the palm of his hand, know the exact number of his defects and qualities, know how far he can go, foretell his failures - be what he is. And, above all, accept these things.
At any street corner the feeling of absurdity can strike any man in the face.

It is not easy to stand out, is it? I remember times when I woudn't raise my hand to ask a question or speak up. I didn't do it because I was afraid I was going to sound stupid and I was concerned what others thought of me. Haven't we all been afraid to stand out? I just try to remember that there is no one else like me and that's okay. #success #professional #attitude #different #standout #confidence #work #personalresponsibility #feelings #selfcontrol #emotions #kindness #smart #photography #365photochallenge #365project #project365 #365_today #Project365 #camera #365photos #photos #daily #dailypics
Lord, I want to live a life of godliness, will you help me to fear You, to deepen my understanding of Your love and heighten my desire for Your fellowship!
I pray all this in Jesus name, Amen
(In Memory of Milo 2012)
4 One thing have I asked of the LORD,
that will I seek after:
that I may dwell in the house of the LORD
all the days of my life,
to gaze upon othe beauty of the LORD
and to inquire in his temple.
5 For he will hide me in his shelter
in the day of trouble;
he will conceal me under the cover of his tent;
he will qlift me high upon a rock.
The Holy Bible: English Standard Version (Wheaton: Standard Bible Society, 2001), Ps 27:4–5.
The Lord GOD Will Seek Them Out
11 “For thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, I, I myself will search for my sheep and will seek them out. 12 As a shepherd seeks out his flock when he is among his sheep that have been scattered, so will I seek out my sheep, and I will rescue them from all places where they have been scattered on a day of clouds and thick darkness. 13 And I will bring them out from the peoples aand gather them from the countries, and will bring them into their own land. And I will feed them on the mountains of Israel, by the ravines, and in all the inhabited places of the country. 14 I will feed them with good pasture, and on the mountain heights of Israel shall be their grazing land. There they shall lie down in good grazing and, and on rich pasture they shall feed on the mountains of Israel. 15 I myself will be the shepherd of my sheep, and I myself will make them lie down, declares the Lord GOD. 16 I will seek the lost, and I will bring back the strayed, and I will bind up the injured, and I will strengthen the weak, and the fat and the strong I will destroy. I will feed them in justice.
The Holy Bible: English Standard Version (Wheaton: Standard Bible Society, 2001), Eze 34:11–16.
Life by the Spirit
So I say, live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature. For the sinful nature desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the sinful nature. They are in conflict with each other, so that you do not do what you want. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under law.
The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other. ~ Galatians 5

6 So we can confidently say,
“The Lord is my helper;
I will not fear;
what can man do to me?”
The Holy Bible: English Standard Version (Wheaton: Standard Bible Society, 2001), Heb 13:6.
(Hurley: Lab)
Vindicate me, O God, and defend my cause
against an ungodly people,
from tthe deceitful and unjust man
deliver me!
2 For you are the God in whom I take refuge;
why have you rejected me?
Why do I go about mourning
because of the oppression of the enemy?
3 Send out your light and your truth;
let them lead me;
let them bring me to your holy hill
and to your dwelling!
4 Then I will go to the altar of God,
to God my exceeding joy,
and I will praise you with the lyre,
O God, my God.
5 Why are you cast down, O my soul,
and why are you in turmoil within me?
Hope in God; for I shall again praise him,
my salvation and my God.
The Holy Bible: English Standard Version (Wheaton: Standard Bible Society, 2001), Ps 43:1–5.

Psalm 33:18
18 Behold, ethe eye of the LORD is on those who fear him,
fon those who hope in his steadfast love,
The Holy Bible: English Standard Version (Wheaton: Standard Bible Society, 2001), Ps 33:18. The Psalms present the same picture. It is the comfort of Israel that “the eye of Jehovah is upon them that fear Him, … to deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine (Ps. 33:18, 19). An answer rings out to the cry of the righteous, and there is a comforting correlation between the walk in His fear and the divine answer for today and the future (cf. Ps. 34:3–7; Ps. 84:2, 3; Ps. 94:14; Ps. 146). This connection may be summarized: “Commit thy way unto Jehovah. Trust also in Him … He will make thy righteousness to go forth as the light, and thy justice as the noonday” (Ps. 37:5, 6).
G. C. Berkouwer, Faith and Justification (Studies in Dogmatics; Grand Rapids: W. B. Eerdmans Pub. Co., 1954), 114–115.
It is good to have an end to journey towards; but it is the journey that matters in the end.
Ursula K. Le Guin
9 We must not put Christ to the test, as some of them did and were destroyed by serpents, 10 nor grumble, as some of them did and were destroyed by the Destroyer. 11 Now these things happened to them as an example, but tthey were written down for our instruction, on whom the end of the ages has come. 12 Therefore let anyone who thinks that he stands take heed lest he fall. 13 No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
The Holy Bible: English Standard Version (Wheaton: Standard Bible Society, 2001), 1 Co 10:9–13.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

The Way of Love
13 If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3 If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing.
4 Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it his not arrogant 5 or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; 6 it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. 7 Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
8 Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when the perfect comes, the partial will pass away. 11 When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I gave up childish ways. 12 For pnow we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known.
13 So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
The Holy Bible: English Standard Version (Wheaton: Standard Bible Society, 2001), 1 Co 13:1–13.

Karate is a way of life which teaches self-confidence, health, and physical strength. Every effort in karate teaches you … commitment … for any task in life. You build karate and life at the same time. You grow spiritually and physically at once. Individual change comes through self-study. Then you find your own special techniques — and you find yourself. The final goal of training is to act against any opponent with maximum efficiency.
1-2 out of every 100 students reach Black Belt and of those only 1 out of every 1,000 achieves his 2nd Dan.
So yeah, nothing really interesting happened today. Oh wait, yes! Something DID happen haha. But that's after.
So, I went to karate today and it was the promotional for the lower ranks. It was the same as any other promotional. But at the end of every year, they count up everyone's classes and see who has the most. Teaching classes do not count. I got the highest with 138 =) But with all the teaching, it's about... 155 or so maybe. I only started going everyday over the summer way before my Nidan promotional, but I've been going every since because I've realized how much I love and need karate.
So yeah, my karate instructor congratulated me and thanked me for everything I've done for him. I would do anything for him on a dime. Or a penny =)
OKAY! So for the interesting part. Well, it's nothing exciting, but it was the highlight of my day. So, after school I decided to go and talk about my midterm with my History teacher. I'll call him... Mr. Man. That works. Anyway - So we talked about my midterm for about a half an hour, and I only lost points on the multiple choice and essays. I missed two multiple choice questions, and got threes instead of fours on the essays. When he read my DBQ he figured it to be a four, so he's taking it to his supervisor to revise it and give me a four, which will bump my midterm into the 90's =) My average is still a 96, so I'm still happy hah.
And then after that we just started talking about colleges because I told him I wanted to get into teaching history. We talked about college and grad school and things like that.
After the student that needed to talk to him left, we just kinda kept talking until 4.30 about random things. We talked about college, family, life, weapons, movies, people, history, photography, etc. It was nice, haha. We laughed and joked around. I like him. Mr. Man is a cool guy. So it was like, 2 SOLID hours of just... talking =)
Anyway, that was my day. I dunno a song that would go with this...
"Are you still lost tonight?
Living but dead inside
This is the proclamation
This is the call to rise
Are you abused alone?
Walking with broken bones
If you feel you’ve been forgotten
Let this song guide you home
We are the disillusioned
We’ve been left wanting more
Before every aspiration
Hits the floor
Hold on for your life
All we feel is so far from alive
The damned are done believing
And the cursed can dream no more
So hold on for your life
Because only the strong survive
They tell you what you should be
They sell you the plastic dreams
Opinions are all provided
But nothing is what it seems
I dare you take control
Cause empty are hands
And bruised are the souls
Of those who show no resistance
Of those who are weak below
We are the disenchanted
Who die with each passing day
No one here understands us
So I say
Hold on for your life
All we feel is so far from alive
The damned are done believing
And the cursed can dream no more
So hold on for your life
Because only the strong survive
How will it feel?
To live your life Until your dying day
Where nothing is real
As we sacrifice
Bending until we break
It’s been revealed
Hold on for your life
Dreams are not theirs to take
Dreams are not theirs to take
Hold on for your life
All we feel is so far from alive
The damned are done believing
And the cursed can dream no more
So hold on for your life
Because only the strong survive"
("White Knuckles" by Alter Bridge) I know I usually only post part of songs, but I like the whole song haha. =)

un notable, probablement issu de la bourgeoisie aisée ou de la noblesse de robe ;
direct, mais non agressif ;
elle évite la rigidité du portrait frontal ;
une meilleure mise en valeur du visage ;
sombre,
peu détaillé,
sans repère spatial précis.
Cela a trois fonctions :
Isoler le modèle de tout contexte narratif.
Mettre en valeur la carnation et les traits du visage.
Donner au portrait une dimension intemporelle.
Le fond agit comme un silence visuel, qui renforce la présence psychologique du sujet.
Analyse plastique : couleur, lumière, matière
La palette chromatique
La palette est sobre,
dominée par des tons sombres (bruns, noirs, gris),
rehaussée par la lumière du visage et du col.
Ce contraste sert à diriger immédiatement le regard vers le visage ;
une touche fine et maîtrisée ;
le traitement des carnations, très nuancé ;
la précision psychologique dans les yeux et la bouche ;
héritier du classicisme du Grand Siècle (ordre, clarté, hiérarchie) ;
il inscrit l’œuvre dans une logique familiale et sociale ;
Ce portrait est moins un portrait de pouvoir qu’un portrait de légitimité sociale ;
