The starting point should be if it is necessary for you to change and why you think it is.
As we try to do different things in life, a number of fails will grow exponentially over time, making us think we are a failure, but... are you a failure for real?
Karl started Karate just before his sixth birthday. In a little under three years he's progressed through 10th Kyu (Blue Belt), 9th Kyu (Orange Belt), 8th Kyu (Red Belt), 7th Kyu (Yellow Belt), 6th Kyu (Green Belt), 5th Kyu (Purple Belt) and has has just successfully achieved 4th Kyu (Purple & White Belt). On Sunday, March 19, 2017 Tigers Shotokan Karate entered a team in the "Karate-Do Federation 4th Open Championship" in Barking, London. This was a significant event; arranged by the English Karate Federation, and was much bigger than many of us had envisaged.
My son, Karl, was a member of the team that travelled to the event from Hertfordshire. I'm guessing, but there must have been at least 400 karateka competing in the championship and the standard was exceptionally high. I am very proud to report that Karl won a Bronze Medal in the category "Kata - Boys: 3rd-2nd Kyu / Age 9 to 12 Years". His elected kata was "Bassai Dai" and he did a sterling job against strong competition.
Unfortunately Karl did not win a medal in the "Kumite" (or freestyle fighting) category, but his tenacity and "Courage, Courtesy and Compassion" in combat made me very proud. He is a credit to St. Columba's College.
Karl was the only participant from St. Albans to come home with a medal, and this is a notable achievement.

Life, as my late friend would always tell me, is a matter of choice. Its outcome is caused by your choices and is never an accident. I'm choosing to behave and act upon my Christian duty but that doesn't mean I will keep my notion to myself - when things are way out of order (huh)! I will not remain silent until you realize the importance of Godly decree.
I choose to forgive because I know I'm no better than anyone else. Despite my sinful life, the Lord has given me a life full of grace and I'm not in any position to do otherwise to others.
I choose to love because that's what God ought me to do.
I choose to accept the fact that my life will never be easy with you because God never promised it will be easy anyway.
"Then came Peter to Him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? Jesus said to him, I say not to you, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven."
