No time like the present to really take a look at oneself....I spent the afternoon snapping photos of myself (I know...how vain.....) as a self-reflective study. (c:
I came out with loads of postable images. I tried different body positions and concentrated on the use of space around me. I'll post a sample of them over the next few days.
one thing I do know is that I need a haircut...luckily thats been scheduled with my favorite stylist Lauren. Whom I need to photograph again come to think of it...hmm....(c:

Self portrait. I'm in the middle of applying to go back to school to become a Vet Tech, so that's the book I chose for the shot. And yeah, the glasses are fake, but they make me look smarter don't they!?! ;-)
Here's a diagram for how the lighting on this photo was done: link.

Digital Photography. 10in. x 6.66in. Traditional.
After work on Thursday I threw this shot together. I got the idea off a self portrait I saw on flickr. I liked the idea of using a mirror to see what is pointing at you. I have two studio flood lights, one coming from the top right facing down on me (as you can see from the shadow), and one point up at my camera, so it isn't in a shadow. I was pretty happy with the way this one turned out.

hurray for my smokin' 16 gig iphone! it's just peachy! there's nothing like sitting in the drive-thru at wendys (which i found via google maps) while reading up on lost mythology on wikipedia. my nerd quotient is mighty high these days.

Tryin' out an Olympus SP/310-350...CHANGE IS HARD & I miss my SupaCam ® (that piece of crap) BUT I MUST MOVE ON AND CONTRIBUTE TO Flickr...OR????
This was the first time I had driven in over a year and half. While back home visiting Savannah, I took my old truck out for a ride in the country and snapped this photo of myself. I live in San Francisco where I use public transportation to get around.
I am... mY heart!
A self portrait. (All done with the camera!)
I have captioned it as a self portrait but I wasn't the main subject of my picture. I wanted to give it this dark and anonymous look. The picture is not so much about me, it depicts (at least to me), how a human is all about his heart. Heart is the main source of life for a body and apart from the physical thing.. it has another important role as well.. we are the products of our heart.. atleast it's true in my case because I mostly listen to my heart.. =)

I’ve been meaning to do a self portrait. Something real. Something that really tells who I am. But I’ve been struggling and failing at the same time. Nothing fitted right. The picture would come out perfect but it didn’t portray me, it didn’t portray who I am. So I started to figure it out. Who am I? I didn’t know. I walked in a dead end before I even started. But I did know who I was. I was a girl who loved to dance and dreamt to become a ballerina. I used to be a girl who loved raisins and could have raisins every single day. I love the sea so much I wanted to become a turtle and then I grew up and realized I couldn’t so I wanted to be a marine biologist instead. I wanted to become a writer. I wanted to get published. But I never became one of those. Even the love for raisins didn’t last. And that’s when I got it. That’s when I got me. I am a result of the things I didn’t become.
