I had a whole plan to shoot out in the woods today, an of course, it poured all day. So instead I spent 30 minutes taking silly photographs against a wall just so I had something to do.

Bad but funny too so I post it =D

Yep, another self from the 430 EX test ... YAWN YAWN!

Strobist: Canon 430 EX approx 1/4 power in softbox high camera right, bare Canon 540 EZ behind subject to left 1/32 power, YN-460II with coloured gel on floor pointing at background. Canon flashes triggered by YN-602's, YN flash set to slave mode.

I think for this shot I also had a silver reflector just outside the bottom of the frame, filling in some shadows.

Another one of those "no apparent reason" shots that I thought had some artistic value. Might be the self portrait found in it.

I just attempted a handful of self-portraits to try out my new CamRanger. The iPad streaming the Canon 5D Mark III's live view is sitting at my feet just out of view.

I know, it is not a good photo and the model is bad but it was the first portrait that I tookI after the eye operation. :)

Eu sei, não é uma boa fotografia e o modelo é mau mas foi o primeiro retrato que fiz após a operação aos olhos. :)

The Kodak Self Timer is a pneumatic device for delayed activation of the camera shutter via a release cable. The head of the piston of the timer is pushed down to accomodate the head of the cable . The delay can be regulated by turning the knurled screw of the piston to the left or the right . The device is fired by pushing the small trigger on the edge of the metal cap .The hook can serve to 'hang' the device on the camera .

My first tattoo I got when my husband and I split up to find our selves. That was my issue I lost who I was. I was no longer a strong independant woman. I was this navy wife that sat at home and waited for her sailor to come home. Whe the navy was out of our lives I didnt know how to be...

This is my solar plexus, it represents Self-Esteem, Self-Confidence, Self-Respect, Strong Will, Empowered drive. All the things I need to remember to keep burning strong.

Happily married for going on three years thanks to this self realization

These are the images from the unedited series called 'The Bondage'.

For the past several months, I've been mentoring a dedicated young artist named Grace. She's 13 years old and possesses a mind-blowing amount of painterly talent. Over the weeks and months, she has been coming to my studio to paint and learn and paint some more. We both paint. And listen to Johnny Cash (she loves him as much as I do!), and drink tea, and talk, and yep...paint.

In the background is her very first completed dog portrait of her four-legged babe, Ruthie. As she worked on it, I would often look over my own easel to watch her progress. Amazing.

And, yes, Grace makes me feel as happy as I look in this photo. One of the best studio-mates I've ever had and definitely the coolest 13 year old I've ever met. I'm inspired by this girl. :)

Keep it up, Grace. Your talent, dedication, passion and intellect will take you anywhere you want to go!

2020 Self Portrait - Mike Stoy

while playing with the new strobes after work.

New self portrait shot for my social media stuff. Love doing portrait shots when I can; every new one has a totally different mood and expression.

This is my self portrait for the year in front of a shrub in my front yard that has gorgeous flowers for about two weeks every spring.

Testing out idea's for a self portrait. (Note the date i shot this, I attempted to shoot different

idea's but I think this turned out best, I had trouble infront and behind the camera

for this brief but I have really enjoyed it, made me learn a thing or two about myself)

I decided to take some shots of me applying make up as its an everyday routine

and i will not leave the house without make up on.

I think that most girls these days feel the same way and dont feel confident or secure without a face of makeup on, which is upsetting really.

This image shows a side to my personality as I have low self esteem and confidence, although applying make up does not magically go away, it temporarily hides it, until i have to wash it off at night.

it's a cold, sunny day. i decided to grab my camera's remote and take a self portrait just because. :)
