SELF DISCIPLINE BEGINS WITH THE MASTERY OF YOUR THOUGHTS. IF YOU DON'T CONTROL WHAT YOU THINK, YOU CAN'T CONTROL WHAT YOU DO.

I am developing my style and I am really enjoying this look.
I used one Ab800 in a grid beauty dish right above my face.

self portrait from the colaboration with Monoloquia
I hate mondays!
I love the focus!
I love the grain but don't wanna use it really much muahaha
i found my user's manual (well i found the Spanish version--good thing i take Spanish) and finally figured out how to do self-timer
A crop from the last image on a roll of Rollei Superpan 200 through a Zeiss Ikon Nettar. through lack of research, the film's strong contrast caught me by surprise; in some images it works surprisingly well, and, having reduced the contrast a touch, the sharply detailed nature of the film works pleasingly.
The framing of this shot is a little off, though not so much as it was before the crop; however, I like the fragmented reflections in the window panes, combined with the vine, so severely pruned, to the left, and plant pot.
Woodstock, November 2020, Zeiss Ikon Nettar, Superpan 200, ID-11 stock.
If you like my photographs, why not consider buying a print at captures.life? I haven't yet finished building the site and putting in all of the terms and conditions and policies, but the bits that involve buying a print, having it delivered, and contacting me if anything isn't working or goes wrong are functioning just fine...
Self-portrait as a pyromaniac. A dark room, one daylight LED lamp, one reflector, and three LED spotlights. Converted from raw in macOS High Sierra photo editor.
Self heal [Prunella vulgaris]
In our garden this little plant grows with gay abandon in our poor well drained almost structureless soil. An ideal habit indeed.
Handsome as self heal is, its tendency to creep and success in self seeding does not put a smile on a gardeners face. I however, have left self heal to do its thing unmolested in our rockery.
I used a vintage lens, namely the Takumar 55mm f2:2. Wide open
I don't often take people shots so I thought I'd practise on myself. I've also posted a black & white version. Feel free to say which (if any) you prefer)
I also took the same shot with a 110 year old Kodak Vest Pocket Camera.. It's two away from this one in my photostream.
If your curious about the book, it's a bound volume of the Strand Magazine from the 1890's. The magazine is where Arthur Conan Doyle first published his Sherlock Holmes stories.
I'm standing
on the edge of a precipice and
the ground under my feet
is burning
your steps
and my cheeks
are burning
and then you touch
my arms
are burning
and you kiss again
my lips
are burning until red-hot
after that you touch
differently
and I'm burning
wholly
some day
I know
I won't rise from the ashes
Visiting the graves of my grandmother and grandfather and my dad. Pictured is the shared plottage of my grandparents, with requisite wreathage.
Yesterday, I woke up early hoping for some low fog. However, when I looked out the window and then confirmed with the webcams, I could see that the fog was too high to see anything.
Later in the afternoon, Nick Steinberg and I hiked up to Slacker Ridge in hopes that the fog would remain low enough to still see the bridge at sunset. We were rewarded with a nice show of fog and light.
As we waited for sunset, I decided to do a self portrait. It was by chance that I ended up catching some nice warm rays of light, but I like the effect it creates.
