• Self Reflection •

So yesterday I had to come to terms with the fact that the trip was over. I'm still processing every sight I've seen, internalizing the experience. I realized exactly how much growth I've experienced in such a short time, and to reflect on the images I came home with is a huge deal to me. I've got so much left to share, and I hope you'll enjoy living vicariously through my experiences.

This is my reflection, the reflection of my house, a tree seen through the see through marble and the wire that wraps around the marble. It's a wind chime.

DESCRIPTION: A postcard design reflecting myself and my interests

COMPLETED: February 2010

Self-reflection of the photographer in a golden Christmas globe.

Exaggerated self-portrait

Pen, ink, and watercolor

There's a big antenna on the roof, and this little b&w TV--which I haven't turned on. I understand it might come in handy if another tornado starts heading this way. Hopefully I won't have to find out....

I tried to draw bodies that were distorted, instead of just standing still. The mirror image of the figure and the opposite colors represent a split personality. The figure is about fall into the darkness, while its reflection is coming towads the light. This will cause a shift in the figure's outward personality. I used charcoal as well as shading technique's to fill in where objects are meant to be black. I am going to fill in blank spaces on this page, and then I'm going to turn this into a project.

Drip dry this lost ardor.

Wipe clean, squeak with polished glare.

Stare down.

View this face, this reflection.

Examine the feature.

Know vigor not distinguished by most.

But there.

All there.

Protection builds itself,

for herself,

by itself.

By herself.

Relish in a song of verve,

amble down her streets.

Beaming, laughing, knowing.

The reflection never changed, but she did.
