• Self Reflection •

So yesterday I had to come to terms with the fact that the trip was over. I'm still processing every sight I've seen, internalizing the experience. I realized exactly how much growth I've experienced in such a short time, and to reflect on the images I came home with is a huge deal to me. I've got so much left to share, and I hope you'll enjoy living vicariously through my experiences.

(July 25, 2017)

I'm going through loads of self-reflection lately. I need to go back to school and finish my degree. I need to decide when I'm going to do this and how much I'm going to delay this really. I don't have the motivation, and yet, I'm aware that with the degree I will get almost double my current rate. But what does double mean to me if I didn't intend on becoming a dean in the first place?

I dunno. I guess I have more thinking to do, and I'm not going to rush it-- these are life choices I'm making.

seeking the unseen

So my photo class is in the evening, which right now is just not a great time to have a photography class what with the early darkness and all. So we have to find other ways to take pictures. My class didn't really "get" this one, but I like it.

In the midst of all my photo-taking, I had to take a few minutes to enjoy it myself (and of course snap a photo of myself doing).

UK artist Insa commissioned BAF Graphics to digitally print and install fabric-backed wallcovering to showcase his one-night installation ‘Self Reflection is greater than Self Projection’ in London’s Shoreditch area. The exhibition featured 160m2 of wall covered in Digimura 2.1 Smooth and 60m2 of Aslan floor vinyl with anti-slip laminate, both printed with Insa's work. The entire installation process was carried out by BAF.

Drip dry this lost ardor.

Wipe clean, squeak with polished glare.

Stare down.

View this face, this reflection.

Examine the feature.

Know vigor not distinguished by most.

But there.

All there.

Protection builds itself,

for herself,

by itself.

By herself.

Relish in a song of verve,

amble down her streets.

Beaming, laughing, knowing.

The reflection never changed, but she did.

Reflected in a butterfly mirror with a photo collage (on my fridge) sharing the reflective space with me. I enjoy that I appear to be looking at another self pic on the fridge.
