Canon S3's color accent mode

This otter was having the time of his life swimming around and pushing off of the glass of the tank. I thought the best colors in this image was the algae coloring in the water, so I wanted to color that to add emphasis to the aquaticness of the otter's habitat.

You can selectively blur parts of an image, while keeping the rest intac in Photoshopt.

The tutorial is here:

Selective shots of where we stayed in Somerset in a cottage in Draycott.

I'm sure I can see a fire in the background.

Selective colouring better?

For this photo, I used the technique of selective focus and reflection. Doug's sunglasses had a red reflection to them which created the effect of a portal.

Please do not use or share my photos without getting permission from me first. Thanks :)

This is what I submitted for unit 1 - selective focus - Here is my effort to transcribe my instructors comments with it (Brian K is my instructor)

This is the selective focus shot. This is beautifully done. This is very, very beautiful. Really great lighting. She got, (chuckle in the background), looks like she’s staring off in the distance here, thinking, thinking very seriously about something. The way her hair is kinda hanging off in the breeze there is really nice. The only thing about this Mary is that you’re in too close. You want to come out some more. Bring in some more of her head into the frame, maybe her shoulders, because you’ve got such beautiful light hitting her. You want to take advantage of that. It’s overcast, overcast is very good. Overcast is not bad. If it’s very, very overcast to the point of almost dark, better not to shoot in that stuff because you’re gonna be kinda wasting your time. There should be some kind of sunlight happening, you know. Mild overcast is ok, because that’s like putting a cloud in front of the sun diffusing the light. Very, very intense overcast where it looks like it’s gonna rain, you know, not a very good shooting situation. But this is really very well done. Excellent focus, excellent lighting. You caught her expression. Beautiful shot. You know, you’re just in a little too close, but otherwise this is really a fantastic photograph.

One of my collection of vintage cameras. Just playing around, trying some effects. Lit with a hand-held torch for 0.8 secs.

selective coloring, sooc besides that.

Blurs out the background artificially to create a dramatic effect.

A different take i tried with selective color. Instead of the b&w i used a sepia tone.

Selective Color....

1st attempt. I used the tutorial below and GIMP 2.6, open source vector graphics program.

Cytisus broom flower in my garden

This bench was placed with a lovely view of a brick wall. It seems turning it around would have made more sense. For the coloring, I tried a new technique (well new for me at least) called selective sepia toning.
