These tall plants barely got to flower this summer - the rain destroyed the blooms as soon as they were out.

One of my favorite perennials has seedpods this year!

Thanksgiving day at Shirley's house...

September 27-28, 2008, I participated in a School Librarians' Retreat at a Catskills resort. It was a helpful, fun way to learn new Internet-based skills & have time to practice using them. Sunday morning, I got up early & took a walk around the grounds, to see what I could see in Kerhonkson, New York, USA. It had rained overnight & was a misty, humid morning.

I couldn't decide if I liked this picture more with the empty space, or with the tight crop, so I put them both up.

figs cut up for the next batch of muffins.

Not perfectly in focus, but I like the composition and OOF background, which was what I was aiming for.

Macro Pentax Q. (Foolishly) handheld pentax-DA 1:2.8 35mm macro. ISO 400, 1/250. f-stop unknown due to adapter.

Just split, prior to disgorging its 'angels' in the fall.

this is a set of 3 photos of a very busy bee at the onion flowers in our garden. on number one the tongue is out! I have some more to add another time.

Many of the seeds that fall to the ground will germinate next spring and produce beautiful flowers that will attract hummingbirds.
