Photographs of palm trees on The English Riviera's beautiful and flourishing micro-climate.
A wind beaten Washingtonia at the Riviera Centre. It always surprises me how badly these trees get beaten considering the seafront is on the other side of the building. Its inexplicable to me how this happens.
I'm not sure what kind of Washingtonia this is.

Westminster is a strange station... so many levels with escalators, stairs and lifts that I find once and don't see again until I stumble across them about a year later. This is one of those staircases.
A large digital display screen shows real-time statistics for a circuit training voting system with data points like 17.3k votes total and 155 votes today. The screen is divided into sections displaying attention metrics, decision times, and a grid of portrait images categorized by popularity. To the left, a smaller vertical screen and a security camera are mounted on a dark wall in a dimly lit indoor environment.
I am awarding myself extra marks for not only finding a security mirror inside a smelly car park stairwell which is two urban checkboxes for the price of one but finding one that gets me caught on cctv as I'm taking the photo which is a bonus multiplier or something.

If you get past the fence, you face a perimeter of security cameras and detectors.
Some of these white tents are temporary changing rooms for the Olympic athletes and some are another media centre.
Unlike the Richmond Olympic Oval which is already operating as a multi-purpose recreation community complex, the Vancouver Olympic/Paralympic Centre has been effectively closed to the public since it opened in February 2009 to host the World Wheelchair Curling Championships and then the World Junior Curling Championships in March.
Located on a former gravel parking lot at the foot of Queen Elizabeth park (with its famous quarry gardens) and boasting views of the North Shore Mountains, the Centre will host six thousand spectators for curling and wheelchair curling during the games.
The Canadian and BC governments contributed $40.25 million to the centre, which will be converted into a recreation centre AFTER the games, with ice sheets for hockey and curling, a gymnasium, library and aquatic centre.
