Section of an anachronistic WPA mural in the lobby of an apartment building in Washington Heights. The artist is Stuyvesant van Veen, an apparently well-known mural artist in the 1930s but who is largely forgotten today.

'Olympians' from eight Schlegel retirement residences competed in a number of events in an effort to win medals for their residence. Bob Nickerson represented Glendale Crossing in the Sprint event and came away with a Bronze medal.
