Lucy Terry Price (1730? ~until~ 1821) is the first published African American poet. Her poem, written while she was a slave, is entitled "Bars Fight." "Bars Fight" describes a deadly confrontation between British settlers and American Indians prior to the American Revolution. Years later (1855) "Bars Fight" was published in The History of Western Massachusetts. Lucy's husband Abijah bought her freedom and they moved form Massachusetts to Vermont. Don't think Lucy kicked back and wrote lots more...nothing else tat she may have written survives. Abijah predeased Lucy. When it came time for her son's higher education she argued in front of the board of trustees of Williams College for his admission. Unfortunately, she was unsuccessful. And when her neighbors tried to seize her land? She argued her case in the state supreme court. Impressing the justices with her presentation, she (rightly won her case. Find out more about this African-born woman!

Banganga Yoga Centre
/by Devendra Surte
This site is selected keeping in mind the alignment of the temples along the tank. The Temples which are preserved as a Cultural Heritage are left untouched. The site is the oldest surviving structures in Mumbai. The Yoga Centre Faces the Tank and the Water and also it’s descending steps. This gives mental satisfaction to the person practicing Yoga. It also receives a lot of Positive vibrations coming from the temples which stand on both the sides and also in the front. The Basic idea behind the Design is to merge it with the descending steps to make it look like a part of the Tank and the surrounding area as if it existed several years ago. A Green landscaped Slope with cutout terrace for Yoga is an important aspect behind the Design to make it successful. There is very little green around the site. So making a green slope would highlight the Yoga Centre. The entrance is planned next to the Book store moving down to the changing rooms further down to the Yoga Terrace and Juice Bar. All the areas are connected with the Green Landscape slopes.
My Idea was not inspired by an art work or a painting but it’s inspired by a form of Nature which the early man used to protect himself. That is FIRE. I was inspired by ‘Fire’ and its form. The way the flames erupt from a common base rising upwards and getting narrower at the tip. It does not have any particular shape as such but its stronger and dense at the base and gets weaker and narrow at the tip.

Erith to Bexley: The Dartford Creek Barrier resembles a giant concrete guillotine, bridging the River Darent just before it meets the Thames. The barrier supports two 160-tonne gates which can be dropped to hold back the rising tide. In 2019 it was used about 12 times, whenever water levels threatened to overwhelm the river embankments.
Oh the marvels of Photoshop!
ps this is bs. but fun to imagine.

Hercules: The World's
Biggest Dog Ever According to Guinness World Records
Hercules was recently
awarded the honorable distinction of Worlds Biggest
Dog by Guinness World
Records. Hercules is an English
Mastiff and has a 38 inch
neck and weighs 282 pounds.
With "paws the size of
softballs" (reports the Boston Herald), the
three-year-old monster is
far larger and heavier than his breed's standard
200lb. limit. Hercules
owner Mr. Flynn says that Hercules weight is natural
and not induced by a
bizarre diet: "I fed him normal food and he just
grew".... and grew. and
grew. and grew.
