Second day on the land... primmed out at 227 prims out of 233. The house is not even furnished yet! It's completely empty!! o.O
The second deer skeleton I found today, perhaps 20 or 30 yards from MooseWood's bird feeders -- where the deer eat bird food and are fed by people in their cars. This skeleton, too, belonged to a doe. In the lower right-hand corner of this picture you can see the wing mark where a bird landed in the snow.
This skeleton was also picked clean.
I was hoping to find something today, but not exactly two dead deer. It's very melancholy to make such discoveries. Still, it's the way nature works, especially in an area where the deer are, frankly, just too many. On my way back to the car, I spotted two more deer, live ones this time, loitering about the bird feeders. What will be their fate?
