Though the tunnel is named “Second Yamate Tunnel,” it was built before “Yamate Tunnel.” Actually, it is the oldest tunnel in this area.
The tunnel was built in 1911 for streetcar line, and was called “Honmoku Tunnel” at that time. Then, another tunnel for cars was built in 1923, at the west of this one. It was named “Yamate Tunnel.” In 1973, streetcar line was terminated. Southbound lane of Yamate Tunnel was moved to Honmoku Tunnel, and the name was changed to “Second Yamate Tunnel.”

Truls Svendsen er blitt 40 år og litt satt. Dette bekymrer Truls sine kompiser såpass mye at de i 40-årsgave gir Truls en utfordring. De sender ham av gårde på Hurtigruta – og gutta skal bestemme mye av det Truls skal gjøre på turen. Oppdragene Truls får underveis er valgt ut av gutta for å utfordre han i ting han kanskje ikke er så flink til, men også for å gi ham fine opplevelser som de mener han fortjener. Målet er å utvide Truls sin horisont. Truls dykker med steinbit, surfer (prøver i hvert fall), drikker seg litt full (kanskje ikke en helt ny side), prøver seg som prest, er lærer i naturfag på ungdomskolen (nærmere bestemt seksualundervisning), prøvespiller for Rosenborg, er konge i Herøyspelet og tester sin høydeskrekk.

We started with the idea of a hammock shot with a pink and brown fabric BUT just as I was about to click the shutter this munchkin started screeching. She was now soaking wet and we had to find something new. This fabric was our second choice but I actually love the colors on the baby's skin. I didn't plan the three pink stipes- they just appeared!! Lucky for me.
This house was notable in Vitor for having a completed second story. Many houses had made starts on a second floor, but few had finished the job.
The day we passed by, the dogs were on duty on the second floor. Being at a safe distance from us, they were able to bark to their heart's content without fear of retribution.
The dog in the sweater soon lost interest, but the one on the right continued peering at us over the wall until we went away.
