Mayberry Park, Reno, Washoe County, NV. December 11, 2020. No. 04761

I post this set of images in memory of my father who died this morning (Jan 31). He celebrated his 88th birthday on January 16th.

We found this and some other photos which I shall be selecting more posts from soon.

Fourth-year pharmacy students from left, Zack Leonatti, Austin Hilverding, Brooke Espenschied and John Mostowy compete in a tug of war match with other staff and faculty members. Pharmacy Phest hosted by the Ohio Northern University College of Pharmacy features features games, food and music to welcome students back after summer break.

Jason, Ed, and I explored the Old West Scenic Bikeway out of John Day, Oregon. We came home with sunburn and smiles and a thirst for more.

Jessica Gaddis, Second Door, 2018, Porcelain, Screen, Steel stick, 55" H x 39" W x 22" D

Jessica Gaddis combines the withdrawn daily object with hand formed materials that are equally industrial and organic, playful and somber. Her work is a meeting place, a confrontation of the affective and the reserved; sensual wave monsters of clay and plaster overwhelm the “off the shelf”

The second torii stands in front of the Main gate at the entrance to Fushimi Inari Taisha. The first torii (ichi no torii) is across the street from the Inari train station, the other 20,000 smaller torii are further in. This is a huge complex of Shinto shrines (and the head shrine) dedicated to Inari, the kami of rice, agriculture, fertility, industry, and foxes (the ones of the white variety act as the kami's messengers). The main gate is pictured in the background flanked by two fox statues, many more such statures are peppered throughout the mountain.

Some of the art in the new stations of the Second Avenue Subway on Manhattan's Upper East Side.
