Second life photography waiting by the window

They only last a day. I missed the first one.

Enjoy and I appreciate y'all.

This bridge is over the Snake River as you enter the city of Twin Falls in Southern Idaho. I took this after sunset and did a 30 second exposure. What caught me by surprise was as Iooked down into the water was that there were base jumpers. They jump off the bridge and the town doesn't really do anything to stop them. I person killed himself a week earlier when his parasail didn't open. At this time they were diving into the dark Snake river below the bridge and landing on the shore avoiding giant boulders which could spoil your fun in a major way.

After owning this camera for over a year, I finally began to figure out how to use the feature I bought it for, what Nikon calls focus shift shooting. (It enables the camera to automatically take a number of images, each focused slightly further from the camera, so they can be stacked - here in HeliconFocus software - with the result showing everything in focus.)

This image is the product of twenty images, and it will reward very close examination. I hope you enjoy this first of my focus stacking images half as much as I do, as I find it very exciting to begin to master an important new skill.

More wabi-sabi, and yet another tulip; there appears to be no end to these tulips, as there's a seemingly endless supply at the grocer's.

What I like here is the way the petals spread out around the pistil and stamens, and the stem seems to frame the whole scene, as well as the color and texture of the withered flower parts.

The result of a multi-image focus stack, this image should reward pretty close examination. Maximum viewing size on your computer can be found by opening the image in a separate window, making that window maximum size, typing the letter "L" on the keyboard, and then clicking the cursor as long as a '+' appears in it, typically twice.

If you find this image to your liking, you can find more wabi-sabi - and an account of my understanding of the meaning of that term - in my wabi-sabi album, more tulips in my Tulips album, and more dancing flowers in my Tiny Dancers album.

BTW, I've taken to putting a white rim around these images on black because, on my iPhone flickr app, it is otherwise difficult to discern the image's edges. I made it tiny because, while large mats look lovely on my desktop monitor, they make it hard for my tired old eyes to view an image on my iPhone's small screen.

Grazie mille per i gentili commenti.

The second-to-last Boardman, OR coal train approaches East Billings, with an MRL crew already on-duty in Laurel to keep it moving West.

With my work schedule unpredictable, I decided shooting this guy in beautiful afternoon light would be better than banking on the final train running in the same weather or time frame.

This train set will be stored at the Boardman plant after unloading is completed.

This Photo I shot today during a Nature Fotowalk with Metti. It`s a Try: I put it Upside down, just showing the Reflection in the Water. In the Sky Part you can find some Pieces of Ice (right upper Part). Or does it look more like a Painting??

Have Fun :-)!!

More wabi-sabi. Like the Sunset Trio, these honeys had been hanging by a string from the rafters in my very good friends' basement hoarding chamber for somewhere between five years and perhaps a half century when he gifted them to me. This is a four image focus stack, so it should reward some pretty close examination. I particularly like the little bits of cob web among the jewels.

Yes, it's more tulips, but this image was made from a ten image focus stack. This one was cropped from a larger image which I might post later. I guess I just can't resist those tulips. I hope you feel the same.

You must be this fabulous to enter xoxo

Goshuin Project is very cool. You visit the Japanese shrines in Second Life collecting free stamps to put in your free stampbook. And some of the artwork is awesome! It runs from December 31, 2024 to January 15, 2025

Warbunton was the first shrine on the list. So fun! Cute little stone Hammie statues.

I'll be livestreaming visiting the shrines. Maybe I'll see you there
