Shoutout to RBento for making a KICK ass set of Jojo Poses! Details to come when its closer, for now enjoy me living in Jojo land ♥
After being "trail failed" by this same set here at Culver earlier in the week I was happy to get a second chance today as 403 led Minntac loads south, nicely obscuring the trailing CN units. A perfect morning to chase this guy south, as Josh and Erik can attest.
The tulips are back! The tulips are back. Are you as excited as I am?
Still, more wabi-sabi; that may never change. This one fell over the side of the vase, so I shot it like this; I tried it right side up, but I liked this better somehow - or did I try it upside down, as this was how I found it? Life just gets more unclear as I get older; I'd anticipated it would be the other way around! As usual, my interest here is in color and texture, and above all the way the lines move around in the frame.
BTW, I've taken to putting a white rim around these images on black because, on my iPhone flickr app, it is otherwise difficult to discern the image's edges. I made it tiny because, while large mats look lovely on my desktop monitor, they make it hard for my tired old eyes to view an image on my iPhone's small screen.

Taken from our backyard on a crystal clear October afternoon. Looking up into that canopy is like looking at Nature's version of stained glass art.

A Yellow-jumped Warbler ( Audubon's) is thinking about a second dip after already enjoying one.
Did you know that the Yellow-rumped Warbler is divided into four forms?
The one shown is a Audubon's Warbler and breeds in western North America. Males sport a yellow throat and gray head and chest.
The Myrtle form breeds in eastern and norther north America. The male's white throat distinguishes it from the three other forms, along with other differences.
The Black-fronted warblers look like the Audubon's warblers but males have a dark face and breast. They live in Mexico and are nonmigratory.
The fourth but not least, the Goldman's Warbler males have a yellow throat bordered in white, and are nearly black on the head and ches. They live in Guatemala and are nonmigratory.
- metallic mesh fangs (unrigged, texture change via HUDs) - left, right & linked versions

This weekend has been a weekend of second chances. We were planning to go to the beach for the final weekend of summer, but I unfortunately got very sick which appeared to put quite a bit of a damper in our plans. Yesterday afternoon, Alicia and I prayed for wisdom on whether or not we should go especially since I had been and still was sick. We believed that it was a yes, so we packed up our rental and made simple sleeping accommodations in the back and we headed on our way. Another means of grace on this trip was our sweet brother and sister in Christ gifted us with door dash money since they knew we had been going through a lot. This definitely came in hand in regard to providing food during our trip which was extremely helpful. After going to the beach that night, we drove up to Tettegouche where we camped out for the night. We both woke up early (4:00 a.m.) and unfortunately Alicia ended up getting sick from me. We decided to head home earlier than expected and left before sunrise so that we could both get some rest. As we were heading back down, the sky lit up in a full array of colors and to be quite honest, I was scrambling to try and find if there was a quick place I could stop to snag a quick photo. Nothing was opening up in the right position until I got to Split Rock Lighthouse State Park where I quickly drove down to the beach and sprinted to the beach from the car. Thankfully, this sunrise lasted quite a bit longer than average and I was still able to capture the beauty that remained of it.
There were a couple of very important things that I was convicted on this morning. (1). It was way more important to take care of my wife than to see the sunrise no matter how beautiful it was. So often, I can become quite selfish around sunrise as I have my own plans of where I want to go and what I want to shoot, often not realizing that in that moment that I can end up neglecting the needs of others. (2). Even if I didn't get a picture of the sunrise, I still got to see it. I still witnessed the glory of God in His creation whether I got a picture of it or not. If getting the perfect shot is the end goal for me, I have missed the whole purpose. It is to marvel in awe at the wonders of God that lead us to worship Him that should have a far greater purpose than to merely just take pictures of a place. (3). God is so gracious to me and it is all so undeserved! This past few weeks have been really hard for me as I have felt very burnt out and angry. The last thing that I deserved was grace. God gives us so many undeserved second chances. I am amazed at the kindness and radical mercy of God!
America - „A horse with no name“
www.youtube.com/watch?v=mSZXWdKSQNM
On the first part of the journey
I was looking at all the life
There were plants and birds and rocks and things
There was sand and hills and rings
The first thing I met was a fly with a buzz
And the sky with no clouds
The heat was hot, and the ground was dry
But the air was full of sound
I′ve been through the desert
On a horse with no name
It felt good to be out of the rain
In the desert, you can remember your name
'Cause there ain′t no one for to give you no pain
La, la, la, la, la, la
La, la, la, la, la, la
La, la, la, la, la, la
La, la, la, la, la, la
After two days in the desert sun
My skin began to turn red
After three days in the desert fun
I was looking at a river bed
And the story it told of a river that flowed
Made me sad to think it was dead
You see I've been through the desert
On a horse with no name
It felt good to be out of the rain
In the desert, you can remember your name
'Cause there ain′t no one for to give you no pain
La, la, la, la, la, la
La, la, la, la, la, la
La, la, la, la, la, la
La, la, la, la, la, la
After nine days, I let the horse run free
′Cause the desert had turned to sea
There were plants and birds and rocks and things
There was sand and hills and rings
The ocean is a desert with it's life underground
And a perfect disguise above
Under the cities lies a heart made of ground
But the humans will give no love
You see I′ve been through the desert
On a horse with no name
It felt good to be out of the rain
In the desert, you can remember your name
'Cause there ain′t no one for to give you no pain
La, la, la, la, la, la
La, la, la, la, la, la
La, la, la, la, la, la
La, la, la, la, la, la
La, la, la, la, la, la
La, la, la, la, la, la
La, la, la, la, la, la
La, la, la, la, la, la
La, la, la, la, la, la
La, la, la, la, la, la
La, la, la, la, la, la
La, la, la, la, la, la
La, la, la, la, la, la

That relocated headlight lets you know the leader on Norfolk Southern's train 290 wasn't always a thoroughbred. NS 3553 was built in 1979 for the Burlington Northern; BNSF sold it as surplus at the turn of the Century. Helm Financial had it in leasing service until 2013 when Norfolk Southern bought it and others to add to their fleet.
