West Ocean City Harbor, Atlantic Ocean, Maryland

From the west-side construction of the Hackerbrücke in Munich, Germany people often enjoy a sundowner. However, when the best seats are taken, one has to improvise and sit in the second row aka. the east-side.

Sorry, if I'm slow in commenting, but Bad Panda takes too much time.

I was never too thrilled with this photo before I cropped it, but when I was looking through older photos for a project, I thought this might be a good crop. I made a few other tweaks, like erase the flag, but the crop is the main difference. I will put the original, which I posted in July 2013, in comments. For all I know, you may prefer that one.

Early this weekend when we had some clouds along with the sunrise, this eagle was sitting in a tree on the edge of a large wetland pond in the Dalbo WMA. I pulled off the road, took a few shots and was not happy with them. He gathered his wings and flew off and I thought that was the end of my opportunity. But within 10 minutes he flew back into the same tree and perched on the end of a dead branch near the top.

I went to my favorite local park with an out-of-town visiting friend, and we wanted to get some steps in, so I left the camera at home. I was OK with that until I saw this little family of Ruddy Ducks cruise by the water's edge, practically point-blank. While I've seen my share of Ruddies, I'd NEVER seen Ruddy Ducklings. All I got was a cell phone pic. So I went back the next day armed to the gill, and they were no-shows. But I did find Clark's Grebes with 2 little grebelets way far across the pond. I went back again a couple of days later to spend time on the grebe family, and the little Ruddies did an unannounced close pass right in front of me. Yeegads, I had the 600mm with 2x on the camera. But they did give me some time to make adjustments, after I got this insurance image of the drive-by. Life is good, all six little ducklings were hanging in from the first time I saw them a few days before.

February - but the West coast of Scotland was 14C - the warmest in the UK at the time

Trekking up Glen Lehigh in Ricketts Glen State Park from Waters Meet, B. Reynolds Falls is the second set of falls one encounters; though, from an imagery perspective, I would call it second to none. The unseasonably warm weather in the mid-Atlantic region of the United States has delayed the peak autumn color change. Before today this region has had very little rainfall, so the falls are not roaring at their full grandeur, but I was quite pleased with what I was able to capture.
