Kahu poses on the beach at Mission Bay. She is sitting on a paua (abalone) shell. The statue is of Ngatoro-i-rangi, a notable figure from Maori mythology/history.

Additional Comments: This gigantic monstrosity was quite the nightmare to build. The Serpent took me 8 months to build, slowly over time, and cost me quite a lot due to the dark blue colours (which I now realise is super-expensive). The serpent's aw is undeniably the toughest part of the build, and funnily enough, I started from the jaw, and worked my way backward. Unorthodoxly unplanned, no instructions and no forward thinking, this guy was an all out mess. But he looks amazing!

Sea Monster - an imperial stout by Ballast Point Brewing Company. A fantastic smooth ABV 10-point-something to ease the mind and calm the spirit on a cold winter night. Really good at room temperature.
