This is my gorgeous baby Moriarty (named after watching far too much Sherlock Holmes) sitting watching the snow fall.
He is so soppy and affectionate as well as being the most beautiful cat in the whole World, I know I'm slightly bias, but those eyes!
Moriarty is a Ragdoll. I chose the breed Ragdoll because of their laidback temperament, beautiful blue eyes and affectionate behaviour, and he definitely lives up to it.
Here's a bit of info about Ragdolls, for anyone who's interested in the breed.
Ragdolls are large, laid-back, semi longhaired cats with captivating blue eyes. The Ragdoll is a pointed breed, which means that the body is lighter in colour than the points (the face, legs, tail and ears). The Ragdoll cat is carefully bred to produce large affectionate animals in three patterns, two with white (mitted and bi-colour) and one with no white (colourpoint). The ideal Ragdoll is a well-balanced cat, with no extreme features. Neutered males will usually top the scale at 15-20 pounds; females are proportionately smaller and usually weigh between 10-15 pounds at maturity. Ragdolls are slow-maturing, reaching full coat colour at two years, and full size and weight at four.
Ragdoll cats tend to be more interested in humans than some breeds of cats. They are known to run to greet you at the door, follow you from room to room, flop on you, sleep with you, and generally choose to be where you are. Many Ragdolls have been taught to come when called and play fetch. They are gentle cats, and usually play without extending their claws. Ragdolls tend to be floor cats, not jumpers. The Ragdoll's semi long coat is plush and silky, and requires minimal grooming to keep it looking its best. They should be combed with a steel comb on a regular basis to find and remove any loose hair or tangles. Quality coats consist mainly of long, soft guard hairs. Ragdolls, just like all breeds of cats, will shed, usually with the change of seasons. The absence of the thick, dense, insulating undercoats results in reduced shedding and matting. In all, Ragdolls are well behaved, and easy to care for perfect pet for our modern, busy, lifestyles.
Ragdolls were developed in the 1960's by Ann Baker; a breeder in Riverside California. The origin of the Ragdoll breed consisted almost entirely of free-roaming cats. Ann bred Josephine, a domestic longhaired white female that was found running loose in her neighbourhood, to other cats she owned or found. The offspring of this female had unique temperament traits that were very endearing. By selecting individuals with the look, temperament and criteria she wanted for her breeding program, she created the Ragdoll breed.

The perfect cat for birdwatchers.
We are four days into the world of Ragdolls and I would like to introduce you to Morris who has a fantastic, Confident, Friendly and playful personality, We have a Dalmatian (who is not that confident) which after a few hisses, they have seemed to have settled down, to me that is Brilliant as this was the first time Morris has ever seen a dog. Unfortunately, the dogs tail is know longer safe (haha)!!
He came in to the Family as a surprise from my Brother and his partner as we lost a our young Maine Coon cross last month (road victim) which left us devastated. I still think about her every day. RIP little one!
I have done a lot of reading up about them and I notice some similar traits to an MC such as water and a follower. He is definitely going to be an indoor car but I am going to buy him a harness so we can take him out into the garden when he is older.
Looking forward to posting more photos of this little Blue eyed Teddy!!
Cheers
This is my gorgeous baby Moriarty (named after watching far too much Sherlock Holmes) sitting watching the snow fall, as he is only 22 months old, this is the fist proper snow he's ever seen, he was fascinated, wanted to play in it for hours, and he doesn't feel the cold with that amazing coat of his.

Willow in the snow :)
She's so sweet in it, she hates it because its so cold - I wish I'd taken a video of her jumping through the snow, it was so funny.
But I'm happy I got this picture, hopefully it will snow again tonight so I can get one of Simba in it too :)

I was setting up the camera trying something else (which didn't work out as I'd imagined) and got this keeper instead. She just sneaked right up there while I was fiddling with camera focus... I thought it was cute enough to post.
This is Sasi who is 16 weeks old. She is a birthday present to my wife who's birthday it is today (19th sept ). Sasi is a seal point Ragdoll and has spent most of her few hours she has been with us hiding under our bed !

It has been quite a long time since I captured a decent image of Simba.
With both a new camera (Canon EOS 5D Mark IV) and new lens (Canon EF 200mm f/2L IS USM), I decided to take advantage of the opportunity Simba presented me as he was sitting outside in the garden.
Here, he looks up eagerly as a bird chirps and flies overhead.
This is what happens when you want to take a photo and one of the subjects doesn't agree with it, so it suddenly bites your mother when you press the shutter button.
Back then Axl was 6 months old and had not tamed us yet.

This is a seal point kitten at the shelter that has already been adopted. Kittens like this get adopted very quickly at our shelter.
EDiM #21 - Draw a Close-Up of part of something
An explanation of Mae's name (because I know the question will come up). "Maeow Thai Si Nom Thon" means "Siamese Cat Dark Grey" in Thai. I got Mae as an older kitten and put this together from what I thought might be right from searching the internet. Then a couple of weeks after that two darling exchange students from Thailand joined my art class. I asked them to translate what I had come up with, and, lo and behold, I was right. Bingo! Mae is exactly that, a Lynx-Point Siamese - a Sealpoint crossed with a grey tabby. Her points are black, she is quite grey and she has stripes!
This is my first cat I have in my live. His name is Toto, and his die at 7 years old. I love the Siamese Cats.
