SEAL qualification training students from Class 268 take aim during a 36-round shooting test ranging from 100, 200 and 300 yards at Camp Pendleton. SQT is a six-month training course that all SEAL candidates must complete before being assigned to a SEAL team.
These may be sub-adult (< 6 yo) northern elephant seals challenging each other.. not playing, yet less than an actual battle. Alternatively, the one on the right could be a beta male, "hired" by a dominant male to help protect his harem from those who would try to mate with his females. Either way, lessons learned here will be used when they are ready to form their own harems. In this fight, there was no clear winner as the "body guard" pushed the intruder into the water and continued their fight in and out of the waves until you couldn't tell one from the other.

I ventured to Donna Nook, Lincs, today with my daughter. The seals were fantastic, but the weather was pretty vile - gloomy, showery and way too cold to linger in one place for long.
Handheld, natural light. Would have liked some sunlight to perk up the photos - all look rather flat to me.
