Aaaaand next one princess dress set for Vanillia (belongs to Nena) to modeling. Lately we have found the song from this fairytale and we decided to create Thumbelina's dress. This is rather the dress of our imagination - when we were kids, firstly we heard the story and it was how we did imagined the dress of this character.
Later we saw the movie and loved the song "Let me be Your wings". The polish version ("Chcę Ci skrzydła dać") was performed by Jacek Wojcicki and it is very, very lovely! Please listen to it, if You like the songs from fairytales. We also like the french version ;) It is a bit forgotten story, but we think it deserves to be remebered - especially the music ;)

Those 2 are not the same doll! Neither the same character.
But they both belong (or belonged) to me!
One of these days me and some friends were talking how we had a "dark past" in the BJD hobby. So we started to dig up some old photos to have a good laught at it.
And oh my! How I've laugthed!!!!
I'vre realised that on my first 2 years on the hobby, I really didn't knew how to maintain a BJD! Poor things, some of them suffered in my hands!
I looked to some pictures in total disbelief, thinking "How on earth I thought that was good?!". And I do remember I loved those dolls. Even on the worst phases. I did loved them!
So, here's an example of it.
On the left, a photo of Daisuke, an SD13 Syo I no longer have. I did his faceup, cutted his wig, took the photo, and I completely loved it at the time! (well ... I guess love has it's mysteries!)
On the right, a doll I own now. Mathieu, a Migidoll Cho. I also did his makeup, took the photo, etc. I've chosen him to do the comparison because he is the only doll I have with a darker faceup (wich was what I was aiming for years ago with the doll on the left)
I never thought I'd improve that much!
But you know what? I regret nothing! XD
These "bad" times were really fun at the time, and I still enjoy them now! It amazes me every time I see these old photos!

A Esquerda um doll meu em 2005, e a direita outro doll meu em 2012.
Eles não são o mesmo boneco, e nem o mesmo personagem.
Eu estava comentando com umas amigas como nós tinhamos um "passado negro" nesse meio de BJD. Nós pegamos fotos antigas e rimos demais de coisas que achamos no "fundo do baú". Eu nem acreditava como eu customizava muito mal alguns dolls meus. Não que eu achasse que era boa, mas alguns ficavam realmente muito feinhos, e ainda assim eu amaaaaaava eles! (amor é uma coisa estranha).
vendo fotos antigas e novas, eu vejo o quanto melhorei. E eu nunca pensei que fosse melhorar tanto!
Mas não me arrependo de nada! Essa faze com dolls feinhos e mal cuidados foi super divertida na época, e ela ainda me diverte hoje! Morro de rir com as coisas que eu fazia! Acho que faz parte da vida essas épocas bizarras ^^

Last time we updated you with pola-Ts and this time we'd like to update you with our new home suits.
We also prepared new ties and bags which will look great with suits.

I've been feeling really disappointed that I didn't manage much doll time or photos over the winter holiday, and especially photos with Christmas lights.
So, now that the Syo girl is painted, I set up with some lights, to get a few shots of her. She is just so super cute.
Her body does need work - sueding or kips and wiring of her elbows. And, I'd like to give her a manicure too.
But, for now... Some wintery photos of a cute girl, and her stuffy kitty.
Ballet and Robin are hugging Shortcake and Shortbread the bears. ^^
This set is all in pink, suits Ballet taste hehe. I also like Robin in the pink wig with little pigtails.
Although I think next time I will put dark hair on her. :P

I've made this dress for Sana, my SNG Uhui, but it ended up being modeled on Anne (Switch Hahwa) on a Luts SDF girl body. This is a prototype for future SD-sized dresses to come. :)
"Antebellum innocence" -- A line from Vienna Teng's song, Antebellum, which I believe refers to the blitheful state of a group of people before they have suffered through war. The light, cheerful colours/patterns of the patchwork squares reminded me of just such a situation. Being a self-professed history buff, it's no wonder that this phrase leaped out when I was searching for a name for the dress. ^_^ "
