en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kanchi_Kailasanathar_Temple
The kanchi Kailasanathar temple is the oldest structure in Kanchipuram.[1] Located in Tamil Nadu, India, it is a Hindu temple in the Dravidian architectural style. It is dedicated to the Lord Shiva, and is known for its historical importance. The temple was built from 685-705AD by a Rajasimha (Narasimhavarman II) ruler of the Pallava Dynasty. The low-slung sandstone compound contains a large number of carvings, including many half-animal deities which were popular during the early Dravidian architectural period.[2] The structure contains 58 small shrines which are dedicated to various forms of Shiva. These are built into niches on the inner face of the high compound wall of the circumambulatory passage.[3] The temple is one of the most prominent tourist attractions of the city.[4]
The temple has retained the Pallava architecture in its original stylized form with influence of the later styles developed by the Chola Dynasty and Vijayanagara Emperors.[3] It is of stone built architecture unlike the rock cut architecture built into hallowed caves or carved into rock outcrops as in Mahabalipuram. The tall gopuram (tower) is to the left and the temple complex is to the right.[12] The temple's foundations are made of granite, which could withstand the weight of the temple, while the superstructure, including the carvings, are all made of sandstone. Initially, only the main sanctuary existed with pyramidal vimana and a detached mandapa (main hall)

The climate, why do I care ?

__________
Architecturally, the crown jewel of Exposition Park is the 1913 Natural History Museum (renamed the Los Angeles County Museum of Natural History), designed by the prominent team of Frank Hudson and William Munsell. The Natural History Museum is mostly Beaux Arts, capped by a large dome of stained glass, supported by marble pillars. The building accents are Romanesque and Spanish Plateresque.
The Sunken Garden (renamed the Rose Garden in the 1920's) is the park's other National Register site. There are more than 20,000 rose bushes, with more than 200 varieties. The Rose Garden, with the Natural History Museum in the background has been captured in numerous films and TV shows, most recently featured as the home of the "Jeffferson Institute" on the TV crime drama Bones. The park's past is checkered. Originally it was a vanue for horse, camel, dog, and later automobile racing; it also reportedly housed the city's longest bar and "one of its most stylish brothels."
Also lining the Rose Garden are other architectural treasures. The Beaux Arts/Classical Exposition Building (renamed the California Science Center) runs parallel to the garden, and opposite the Natural History Museum is the Beaux Arts/Egyptian Revival Armory Building (Now the Science Center School and Amgen Center for Science Learning. Next to the Armory Building is the 1984 Frank O Gehry and Associatiates California Aerospace Museum. Elsewhere in the park is The Museum of African-American History, designed in 1984 by Jack Haywood and Vincent J Proby. The Memorial Coliseum was designed by John and Donald Parkinson.
Exposition park holds the distinction of the only venue in the world to host two olympic summer games (X and XXIII) and two Superbowls (I and VII). During the 1990's the park's popularity decreased and it was possible to spend time in the Rose Garden and almost not see another person. Today the park has regained its popularity.
__________
The park is public space owned by the state of California, whose major cultural facilities mentioned above are operated by both the state and Los Angeles County. The 160-acre (0.65 km2) site served as an agricultural fairground from 1872 to 1910 (hence its original name Agricultural Park). Farmers sold their harvests on the grounds, while horses, dogs, and even camels competed along a racetrack where the rose garden now blooms.
In 1880, John Edward, Ozro Childs, and former Governor Downey persuaded the State of California to purchase 160 acres (0.65 km2) in Los Angeles to foster agriculture in the Southland. Soon after USC was built in 1880, the city's most influential families moved into the neighborhood, but did not appreciate the racing and the gambling that came with it. As a result, the rose garden replaced the racetrack, and the park became what it is now with its grand museums.

Bramadesam is a temple of Chola period. There are 92 inscriptions here.
Inscriptions are extremely vital for the reconstruction of the history as they not only gave us insights into the political happenings of the concerned period but also about the socio-economic conditions as well as the cultural aspects of the period.
One must visit here to see the architectural beauty of thousand year old structure. Presiding deity is Chandramouliswarar.

Clothing is an exercise of memory. It makes me explore the past: how did I feel when I wore that? They are like signposts in the search for the past.
- Louise Bourgeois
This year I have focused on our relationships with clothing and how they act as a memory of us. They memorise our bodies, creasing where our arms and legs bend, catching our sweat, our DNA and sometimes our blood. They are marked by our lives, as we stain and tear them, and are associated with different moments or periods of life, whether they feel significant, everyday or somewhere in between.
The resulting work is a quilt modelled on my hallway, made out of clothing from my friends, family and acquaintances. It is about the people in my life who represent my home. I have embroidered over stains and tears to highlight them as points of memory, putting in a labour of love and care as an ode to the important but forgotten work of women in patriarchal society.

From the museum website:
"With approximately 6,000 objects, the Asian art collection encompasses the regions of East Asia (China, Korea, and Japan), Southeast Asia, South Asia, and the Near East from the Islamic era. The Chinese and Japanese collections were built initially through the gifts and bequest of Mrs. William H. Moore. The greatest strengths of the Chinese collections lie in ceramics and painting. These include a special group of vessels from the Changsha region of Hunan Province, spanning ca. 500 B.C.E. to C.E. 1000, assembled for the most part by John Hadley Cox, B.A. 1935. Chinese paintings range from the Tang dynasty (618–907) through the twentieth century. There are also fine examples of work from the seventeenth century and, with recent gifts of over one hundred nineteenth- and twentieth-century paintings, in the modern and contemporary periods as well."
This is one of the wire sculptures I made. It sold yesterday so I took a picture to say goodbye. I made a number of wire sculptures in the past inspired by himmeli type mobiles. I was also influenced and inspired by the work of Richard Lippold.
