Over 150 people from Unite Against Fascism confront Nazi teacher Adam Walker and Nazi leader Nick Griffin on the second day of the hearing at the General Teaching Council 25th May 2010

5 members of the fascist British National Party joined Adam Walker along with Nick Griffins boot boys to spread their racist lies and sow division. They think teachers should have the right to spread racist and Islamophobic material on the internet from the schools where they are paid to teach.

Unite Against Fascism supported by the National Union of Teachers, NASUWT, PCS, Birmingham Trades Council and many other unions believe our schools should be places of tolerance and learning, not ignorance and hatred. That is why Unite Against Fascism peacfully but noisily confronted them to celebrate our diverse city and show the BNP they are not welcome here.

The demonstration consisted of all parts of Birmingham’s rich diverse community in opposition to the division and hated of the BNP and to oppose racists and fascists in public services. The protests continued throughout the the hearing.

It was a disgrace that the hearing did not strike off Adam Walker however it was very clear to see this had not been the victory the BNP had hoped for. Their pathetic 'national' mobilisation never reached beyond 15 people, participants had to be escorted by the police, at no stage were they able to hold interviews without the UAF chants drowning them out and their so called victory was celebrated by them sculking away under police protection and bundled into a 4x4 with their body guards. No school would ever want to offer Adam Walker a job.
