Gagarin created a multimedia presentation describing the life and work of the writer and Nobel Prize winner Halldór Laxness. It was produced for Gljúfrasteinn Laxness museum, that is situated in the house where Laxness and his family lived for over 50 years. The house and living quarters are preserved as they were when Mrs. Auður Laxness donated them to the Icelandic nation.

Halldor Laxness lived almost the entire twentieth centure, from 1902-1998. The challenge was to tell his story to meet both the needs of foreign visitors with little knowledge of the author and local visitors with in depth knowledge of Laxness. Visitors should be able to get acquainted with the author and view his work in context to the historical events that affected the writer as he affected his environment, through interactive multimedia presentation.

Visitors access this engaging presentation illustrated with photographs and video footage on a touch-screen. The presentation contains a lot of enlightening information about the person, the publications and the major events of the 20th century in Icelandic and world history.

This project was created in close co-operation with the employees of the Gljúfrasteinn Laxness museum and the author’s family. The scriptwriters were hired sub-contractors with great knowledge on the work and life of the writer.

"The date of Manganji's founding is unclear, though it may have its antecedents in the Heian Period, when it was originally a Shingon sect temple.

During the Edo Period in 1697, Manganji became a Nichiren temple and many of the present buildings date from that time, including the Main Hall constructed between 1702-1704 and the Bell Tower in 1703. It is thought that Nichiren (1222-1282) himself once stayed at the temple in its earlier incarnation...

...The spacious grounds of Manganji Temple contain a memorial to the film director and scriptwriter Kenji Mizoguchi (1898-1956), who directed such classics of his time as Ugetsu (1953) which won the Silver Lion at the Venice Film Festival.

Mizoguchi worked in Kyoto's Nikkatsu's studios for a period directing such movies as Osaka Elegy and Sisters of the Gion.

After the war, Mizoguchi along with fellow director Yasujiro Ozu, of Tokyo Story fame, were "rediscovered" and acclaimed in the West. At the time of his death in Kyoto of leukemia, aged only 58, Mizoguchi ranked as one of the three great masters of Japanese cinema alongside Ozu and Akira Kurosawa."

Master Simon Wong is originally from China and has been a British resident since 1978. Master Simon Wong is a spiritual Master, a Feng Shui Master, a professional Chinese Astrologer, an artist, musician, songwriter, scriptwriter and author. Master Simon Wong does not give names to his paintings. The Tao Te Ching states: The Tao that can be told is not the eternal Tao. The name that can be named is not the eternal Name. When the Master uses the finger to point at the moon the student should not just be looking at the finger. The finger is just a tool pointing to the direction. Painting is the same, the medium that is used is not important, it is the mental expression behind the art work that gives a picture its spirit. After perfecting his artistic style for the last 40 years, Master Simon Wong is now exhibiting and selling his work.

After twelve years as a Pantagraph reporter, Gerald “Jerry” Sohl (left) decided to pick up his family and head to California to become a full-time science fiction and fantasy writer.

Seen here are his wife Jean Gordon, son Allan, and daughters Marty and Jennifer (we’re not sure who’s who, daughter-wise). Sohl already had nine novels published and would become a successful television scriptwriter. Once out West he wrote episodes for “The Twilight Zone,” “Alfred Hitchcock Presents,” “The Outer Limits,” “Star Trek: The Original Series”,” and others.

His more popular sci-fi novels included “The Haploids,” (1952), “Costigan’s Needle” (1953), and “The Time Dissolver” (1957).

National Award winning filmmaker and scriptwriter Gajendra Ahire’s latest ‘Dear Molly’ will get an Oscar screening in Los Angeles, USA in December. The film which is a Indo-Swedish collaboration has been shot in English and Hindi. The film will be screened at select theatres in Los Angeles specifically for the Oscar screening.

This is the only one of my print photos that to date I have been able to find and scan of my beloved Bonkers, the New York bar cat with a perfect tuxedo front, little white spats and crooked tail (a nasty restaurant cook once slammed a door on it and broke it) who I adopted in 1993 when the bar closed down and he didn't have a home to go to.

People in the know believe him, as the resident cat of the well-known Upper West Side bar Tuesdays West throughout the late 1980s and early 1990s, to have been the cat who the scriptwriters for the Seinfeld series of the early 90s had in mind in mentioning a cat called Bonkers in several episodes of the show.

You can see what a character Bonkers was. He loved nothing more than to catch some rays directly from the lightbulbs of table lamps. Luckily I was able to get this shot of him in, I think, 1996 in my then apartment on the Upper West Side. I took Bonkers with me to Newport Beach when I moved there in 1997, then brought him to Alexandria, Virginia, when I moved back east in 1999, and he came back with me to New York in 2002 when I moved back here to be with my wife.

Bonkers was my first cat and is entirely the reason I adopted five more stray cats in California. (You should have seen me getting them all on the plane to Washington Dulles from LAX; and since the limit was five, I had to go back to Orange County to get my sixth cat, Blackie, a month later.)

Alas, my beloved Bonkers died in September 2003 at the age of about 15 after I had had him 10 years, but we will never forget him and I have his paw print in a plaster cast and his ashes, which I will scatter one day in a very nice place he would love. I also still have four of his adopted brothers from Calfornia still with me, so the memory of The Right Honourable E. Bertram Bonkers is celebrated in their lives too.
