Master Simon Wong is originally from China and has been a British resident since 1978. Master Simon Wong is a spiritual Master, a Feng Shui Master, a professional Chinese Astrologer, an artist, musician, songwriter, scriptwriter and author. Master Simon Wong does not give names to his paintings. The Tao Te Ching states: The Tao that can be told is not the eternal Tao. The name that can be named is not the eternal Name. When the Master uses the finger to point at the moon the student should not just be looking at the finger. The finger is just a tool pointing to the direction. Painting is the same, the medium that is used is not important, it is the mental expression behind the art work that gives a picture its spirit. After perfecting his artistic style for the last 40 years, Master Simon Wong is now exhibiting and selling his work.

Gagarin created a multimedia presentation describing the life and work of the writer and Nobel Prize winner Halldór Laxness. It was produced for Gljúfrasteinn Laxness museum, that is situated in the house where Laxness and his family lived for over 50 years. The house and living quarters are preserved as they were when Mrs. Auður Laxness donated them to the Icelandic nation.

Halldor Laxness lived almost the entire twentieth centure, from 1902-1998. The challenge was to tell his story to meet both the needs of foreign visitors with little knowledge of the author and local visitors with in depth knowledge of Laxness. Visitors should be able to get acquainted with the author and view his work in context to the historical events that affected the writer as he affected his environment, through interactive multimedia presentation.

Visitors access this engaging presentation illustrated with photographs and video footage on a touch-screen. The presentation contains a lot of enlightening information about the person, the publications and the major events of the 20th century in Icelandic and world history.

This project was created in close co-operation with the employees of the Gljúfrasteinn Laxness museum and the author’s family. The scriptwriters were hired sub-contractors with great knowledge on the work and life of the writer.

For further information about the museum, visit it's website www.gljufrasteinn.is

I've often heard that when writing stories, plays, film scripts, and music lyrics, they turn out more accurate and authentic when coming from the personal "what we know" experiences of the writer. It's that personal touch from daily living which adds the realism to the fiction. All too often when I view shows, I feel that the characters are acting in ways that don't hit home to me. Sometimes I feel like the show's writers must be from a different universe all together. This is especially true when viewing numerous shows about childhood and youth. The show might be entertaining, but the actions and mentality of the actors is simply pure fiction!

Joe Connelly and Bob Mosher were two scriptwriters who churned out fiction of every imaginative kind but it was when they teamed together on the 'Leave it to Beaver' TV series that their personal experiences added enduring authenticity to the dialogue, which is quite rare in the annals of television and film history. Both men were fathers experiencing first-hand the daily events taking place with their own brood. Mr. Connelly made a habit of following his kids around with a pad of paper to write down the enduring funny situations; the way his kids (and their friends) responded; and the things they said. It was these real-life endurances which made it into the scripting of the television show.

Even now, with some 50 to 60 years of television history behind us, when I view a Leave it to Beaver episode I feel like the dialogue and the childhood sentiments, confusion, and experiences are so much like those of my own and those of children I've known and been close to. Yes, I realize there are some folks who grow-up in alien environments so different from those of Beaver, Wally, Eddy, and myself, but it's not really the world where we are raised which is what we are bonded by, but it's the thinking and feeling we all start out with where a common bond exists. It is those childhood feelings where Mr. Connelly and Mr. Mosher exceeded. I did not grow-up in the same environment that their children did, but I sure experienced similar childhood sentiments. Their writing on Beaver is timeless!

"The date of Manganji's founding is unclear, though it may have its antecedents in the Heian Period, when it was originally a Shingon sect temple.

During the Edo Period in 1697, Manganji became a Nichiren temple and many of the present buildings date from that time, including the Main Hall constructed between 1702-1704 and the Bell Tower in 1703. It is thought that Nichiren (1222-1282) himself once stayed at the temple in its earlier incarnation...

...The spacious grounds of Manganji Temple contain a memorial to the film director and scriptwriter Kenji Mizoguchi (1898-1956), who directed such classics of his time as Ugetsu (1953) which won the Silver Lion at the Venice Film Festival.

Mizoguchi worked in Kyoto's Nikkatsu's studios for a period directing such movies as Osaka Elegy and Sisters of the Gion.

After the war, Mizoguchi along with fellow director Yasujiro Ozu, of Tokyo Story fame, were "rediscovered" and acclaimed in the West. At the time of his death in Kyoto of leukemia, aged only 58, Mizoguchi ranked as one of the three great masters of Japanese cinema alongside Ozu and Akira Kurosawa."
