Master Simon Wong is originally from China and has been a British resident since 1978. Master Simon Wong is a spiritual Master, a Feng Shui Master, a professional Chinese Astrologer, an artist, musician, songwriter, scriptwriter and author. Master Simon Wong does not give names to his paintings. The Tao Te Ching states: The Tao that can be told is not the eternal Tao. The name that can be named is not the eternal Name. When the Master uses the finger to point at the moon the student should not just be looking at the finger. The finger is just a tool pointing to the direction. Painting is the same, the medium that is used is not important, it is the mental expression behind the art work that gives a picture its spirit. After perfecting his artistic style for the last 40 years, Master Simon Wong is now exhibiting and selling his work.

Master Simon Wong does not give names to his paintings. The Tao Te Ching states: The Tao that can be told is not the eternal Tao. The name that can be named is not the eternal Name. Painting is the same, the medium that is used is not important, it is the mental expression behind the art work that gives a picture its spirit. After perfecting his artistic style for the last 40 years, Master Simon Wong is now exhibiting and selling his work.
It all started in 1994. TV scriptwriter Stefan Struik had an interview with a meditating hermit in Baarn (NL) who was complaining about gnomes who disturbed the power network in his house. A month later he ran into trolls in a Norwegian clothing store in the Dutch-Frisian village Dokkum. A year before he got surprised by the amount of one meter high garden gnomes just across the border between Germany and Poland. It all seemed to point into a new direction he would hit a few months later. In December 1994 he opened with his sister a small game and bookstore in Delft (NL), named Elf Fantasy Shop. The games were a golden opportunity. Three years later the duo could open an second store in The Hague.
In 1995 Stefan also started a new adventure with a free magazine called Elf Fantasy Magazine. In 2001 the magazine became professionalized and despite it never realised any profits it existed until 2009.
Stefan and his sister already organised lectures in the Elf Fantasy Shops about druidism, Tolkien and other fantasy related subjects. In 2001 Stefan decided to combine a few things into a totally new and unique festival concept that later would be copied many times: the Elf Fantasy fair. Starting in the historical theme parc Archeon (NL) it moved the year after to the largest castle in the Netherlands: castle de Haar. With the exception of 2004 (castle Keukenhof, Lisse) it remained in castle de Haar, Haarzuilens since then. In 2009 a second version of the Elf Fantasy Fair started 400 meters from the border with Germany in the small village Arcen in Northern Limburg. In January 2013 the name Elf Fantasy Fair™ was replaced by the name Elfia™. The spring edition of Elfia is also called the 'Light Edition', while the autumn edition is characterized as the 'dark edition'.

Nicolas Koline, aka Nikolaj Kolin, was born in Russia in 1878.
Nicolas Koline originally was a stage actor who had played with Stanislavsky before starting in film. He was known for his comic talents. Koline was one of the Russian actors fleeing from the country after the revolution and during the Civil War. Together with his compatriots he moved to France, where he played in several of the films directed by Russian emigré directors, starting in 1920 in L'angoissante aventure (Yakov Protazanov 1920), a film with several fled Russian actors: Ivan Mozzhukin (the lead and the scriptwriter of the film, together with Alexander Volkov), Nathalie Lissenko, Dimitri Buchowetzki, Vera Orlova and Nicolas Panoff. Actually, the film was started during the trip of the emigrés from Yalta to Paris and finished in the Montreuil studio in Paris as the second film of the Ermolieff company, which a few years after turned into Albatros Films. The newly formed company Ermolieff Films (1920) gathered the Russian emigrés; this also included Russian cameramen such as Fédote Bourgassoff and Nicolas Toporkoff.
After this first film followed La tourmente (Serge Nadejdine 1921) starring Koline; Justice d'abord (Protazanov 1921); Les Contes de mille et une nuits (Viatcheslav/Victor/Viktor Tourjansky 1921); the serial La maison du mystère (Volkov 1922) which was also released as a feature; Nuit de carnaval (Tourjansky 1922); Calvaire d'amour (Tourjansky 1923); Le brasier ardent (Mozzhukin and Volkov 1923); Le Chant de l'amour triomphant (Tourjansky 1923); and Kean (Volkov 1923). In particular in the last three Koline had leading parts as respectively the cuckolded husband, the besotted valet, and Kean's soffleur and aid. He was even the main star of the next film Le Chiffonnier de Paris (1924) by Serge Nadejdine, after the famous drama by Félix Pyat. In the same year he played leading roles opposite Nathalie Kovanko and Nicolas Rimsky in La Dame masquée (Tourjansky 1924) and opposite Andrée Brabant and again Rimsky in La Cible (Nadejdine 1924). In these three films he played a man who can only protect his beloved who are inaccessible to him.
In the late 1920s Koline started to play in German films by UFA, first in the Franco-German coproduction Die geheimnisse des Orients (1927/1928) by Alexander Volkov, a film with an internatinal cast including Ivan Petrovich, Marcella Albani and Gaston Modot. It was followed by the highly popular vaudeville comedy Hurrah! Ich lebe! (Wilhelm Thiele 1928) where Koline formed a couple with his compatriot Natalia Lissenko, and Gaukler/Les saltimbanques (1929/1930), a multilingual directed by Robert Land in the German version and by Jacquelux in the French version.
From 1934 on Koline played minor parts in German films such as the coproduction Variétés (Nicolas Farkas 1934/1935) with Annabella, Menschen ohne Vaterland (Herbert Maisch 1936) with Wolly Fritsch, Patrioten (Karl Ritter 1937) with Lida Baarova, Ab Mitternacht (Carl Hoffmann 1937/38) with Gina Falckenberg, and several films by Victor Tourjansky: Geheimzeichen LB17 (1938), Der Gouverneur (1939), Feinde (1940), and in particular Illusion (1941) with Johannes Heesters and Brigitte Horney, and Tonelli (1942/43) with Ferdinand Marian and Winnie Markus. Besides several small roles until the end of the war in films by a.o. G.W. Pabst and Hans Steinhoff such as Komödianten (1940/41) and Rembrandt (1941/42), Koline had a major part in those years in Johann (Robert A. Stemmle 1942/43).
After the war, Koline remained in Germany and played small parts in films from 1947 on again, but in 1948 he also had a major lead again in Tragödie einer Leidenschaft by Kurt Meisel, an adaptation of the Nikolai Leskov novel. Nicolas Koline continued to play in German films until his death in 1954, mostly small parts but occasionally a bigger one as in Cuba Cabana (Fritz Peter Buch 1952), starring Zarah Leander. Some of Koline's parts were in films by Tourjansky again such as Dreimal Komödie (1949), Der blaue Strohhut (1949) and Salto mortale (1953). In the 1950s most films in which Koline played were produced in Munich, some in Hamburg, Wiesbaden or Fankfurt.

Albert Dieudonné (1889-1976) was a French actor, author and director, who became famous as the title character in Abel Gance’s epic film Napoléon (1927).
Albert Dieudonné was born 26 November 1889 in Paris. His uncle, the actor Alphonse Dieudonné, brought him into contact with the world of theatre. Albert had already played minor parts on stage when he got a small part in the 1908 Film d’Art production L’Assassinat du Duc de Guise by André Calmettes and Charles Le Bargy. In addition to his stage acting, Diedonné continued to act in film, in the 1910s with directors such as Albert Capellani (Le roi s’amuse, 1909; La bouteille de lait, 1910), Georges Monca (Jim Blackwood, jockey, 1910; , Georges Denola (Le heureux accident, 1910; Pour les beaux jeux de la voisine, 1910) and Alfred Machin (Le Diamant noir, 1913). In 1915-1916 he performed in five films directed by Abel Gance: La Folie du docteur Tube (1915), L'Héroïsme de Paddy (1915), Ce que les flots racontent (1915), Le Fou de la falaise (1915), and Le Périscope (1916). He also acted in the war propaganda drama Alsace (1916) by Henri Pouctal. In the 1910s Dieudonné als tried to estblaish himself as director and scriptwriter. In 1913 he directed the film L’Idole brisée. He (co-)scripted the films A Woman of Impulse (Edward José, 1917), Angoisse (André Hugon, 1917), and Chacals (Hugon 1917), while he directed himself La Gloire rouge (1917, also scriptwriter ), Sous la griffe (1921) and Son Crime (1922). In 1923 Diedonné met Jean Renoir an co-directed with him Renoir’s debut film Cathérine/Une vie sans joie (1924), but because of a disagreement between the directors the film was only released in 1927.
Dieudonné’s breakthrough and lasting claim of fame he got with his performance as Napoléon Bonaparte in the monumental biopic by Abel Gance, which focuses on Napoléon’s early career, from the military school in Brienne which he visited as a kid, to the Italian campaign of 1796, and including the French revolution, the Siege of Toulon, and Napoleon’s love affair and mariage with Joséphine de Beauharnais (played by Gina Manès in the film). Gance planned this film of six movies on Napoleon’s career, but already the extreme length and the extreme costs of his ‘first episode’ made clear it would be impossible to shoot the sequels. Although Dieudonné was considered too old for the part, he offered himself to Abel Gance in 1925. Gance was so impressed by Dieudonné’s make over and performance that he gave him the title part in his mega-film in 1927. An anecdote Dieudonné himself told in Kevin Brownlow’s TV series Cinema Europe goes like this. He visited Fontainebleau castle in his Napoleon costume and said to one of the nightwatchmen, who since claiemd he had seen Napoleon’s ghost: "I flung open the door. I was in uniform and I said, "Asleep on duty, Matat?" The poor fellow woke up completely bewildered, rubbed his eyes and stared at me. Then I went. Next day, he told the curator D'Esparbes about it. He confessed that in the past he'd been joking a little but this time he'd really seen Napoleon. Unfortunately, the poor soul died eight days later and I may have been one of the causes."
Shooting took place in 1925 and – with a break due to a krach of one of the financiers – in 1926. On 7 April 1927 the French first night of the film took place at the Parisian Opéra Garnier, with a score by Arthur Honegger, a metrage of 5.600 metres and a triptych finale. When Napoléon came out, it was only shown in 8 major European cities when MGM bought the rights and drastically reduced its length for an American release. Because of the introduction of sound cinema in 1927, the American reception was not as enthusiast as in Europe. In 1934-35 a sonorised version was released, with some added scenes, and a 1971 a reworking of this sound version was established in collaboration with French television. Especially the latter version was felt indequate. In 1981 Kevin Brownlow finished a major restoration of the film and afterwards the film was shown around the world with an orchestra conducted by Carmine Coppola, father of the film director. Brownlow continued the restoration afterwards, using materials at the Cinémathèque française as well, and these restorations came out in 1990 and 2001.
After the 1927 version, Dieudonné hardly acted in film anymore, but continued as scriptwriter and director. He wrote the scripts for La Douceur d’aimer (René Hervil, 1930), La Garçonne (Jean de Limur, 1936, also production manager), L’Homme du Niger (Jacques de Baroncelli, 1939), and co-adapted Le Brigand gentilhomme (Emile Couzinet, 1942). His only acting part in those years was in Madame Sans-Gêne (Roger Richebé 1941), in which he played: Bonaparte. Actually, according to French historian Jean Tulard, Dieudonné’s method acting resulted in the actor himself behaving more and more like the French Emperor. Dieudonné would also lecture on Napoleon and in 1957 he wrote the play Moi, Napoléon, staged by Alain Quercy at the Theatre des Arts. Albert Dieudonné died on 19 March 1976 in Boulogne-Billancourt. He lies buried in the cemetery of Courçay, a small village where he spent his last years. According to his last wish, he was buried in his costume of Napoléon.

Morecambe and Wise
Bring You Sunshine
Starline SRS 5066
1971
Today, in the popular imagination, they are inextricably linked with their block-busting 1970s show which broke records and entertained (nearly almost) an entire nation, but Morecambe and Wise had to work long and hard before they became successful and ubiquitous household names. From their first meeting in a touring troupe way back in 1940, the duo served their apprenticeship in a succession of venues all around the UK, touring, struggling and grafting, all the time striving to perfect their act and develop their unique sense of timing and delivery.
Ernie Wise though was an ambitious man, with an eye always firmly set on achieving enduring greatness and he had long coveted a television career. The nascent medium during their early years had appealed to his style of intimate joke telling, a style too subtle to be truly effective on variety stages.
As long ago as 1948 he had been writing increasingly insistent letters to the BBC begging for a chance to make a TV show.
After a disastrous, critically-panned television debut back in 1954 with the BBC series Running Wild, a sorry chapter that saw them pleading for the show to be taken off air, the duo had been brave enough to return to television a second time and try to establish themselves all over again.
Over the years they made numerous supporting appearances on the likes of The Winifred Atwell Show and the popular variety-fest that was Sunday Night at the London Palladium, diligently working away to establishing their reputation anew.
Finally in 1961, the hard work of Morecambe and Wise was rewarded by omnipotent showbiz mogul Bernard Delfont, who granted them their own ATV series, The Morecambe and Wise Show.
It was a brave decision, but I think it is fair to say that Delfont’s impetuous showbiz gamble was vindicated many, many times over.
For the next two decades Morecambe and Wise dominated television like few acts before or since, achieving huge viewing figures never likely to be surpassed, and forging the template for a comedy double act, a template that has been copied many times but never bettered.
The material on the album Bring You Sunshine is made up of songs and sketches penned by Morecambe and Wise’s regular scriptwriters Dick Hills and Sid Green.
Over six series of The Morecambe and Wise Show, Hills and Green did much to establish the personas and characters of Morecambe and Wise that would last the rest of their career.
Ernie Wise, a sensible sort with his ‘short fat hairy legs’ was the butt of many jokes and Eric Morecambe was a wisecracking interfering jester full of witty retorts and mischief.
The efforts of Morecambe and Wise and their writers paid off and they duly became bona fide TV stars.
By 1968 though their contract with ATV was due for renewal.
It was during negotiations over this contract that the particular die was cast which was to change British comedy forever.
In an office with Bernard Delfont’s brother Lew Grade, thick with the heady fog of his gargantuan cigars, Eric and Ernie picked a fight with one of the most powerful and obstinate figures in showbiz.
And won.
Eric and Ernie insisted that more money should be spent on their show and demanded that all their new shows be shown in colour.
This outraged the pug-faced cheroot-chomping mogul. It was rare that Lew Grade made mistakes in business but by refusing to accommodate the artistic and professional ambitions of Morecambe and Wise he effectively released them into the clutches of Bill Cotton over at the BBC.
Cotton realised immediately the gift he had received and saw to it that Morecambe and Wise would become the huge stars that they always believed they could be.
But there was yet more drama in the offing before they could go on to become true legends of the small screen.
In November 1968, just after their first BBC series had aired, Eric Morecambe suffered a major heart attack.
On doctor’s order he was forced to ease back on performing and the second BBC series was postponed indefinitely.
It was six months before Morecambe and Wise would appear in public together again, and before their TV series could return they were stunned by the defection of their tried and trusted writers, the reliable and dependable Green and Hill who had done so much to make them stars.
Unsettled by the long period of inactivity and fearful for their own future, Dick Hills and Sid Green were lured away from writing solely for Morecambe and Wise by their arch-nemesis Lew Grade who offered the writers a generous contract to sign exclusively for ATV.
They left without informing their former employers in a move which could have easily meant the premature end of Morecambe and Wise as a going concern.
Luckily for them though, a former Scouse market trader turned gag-writer named Eddie Braben was free after being ditched by Ken Dodd.
By building on the foundations that Green and Hill had established, the surreal wordplay and comic fantasies of Eddie Braben would make Morecambe and Wise undoubtedly the biggest, most popular comedy stars in the UK.
Bring You Sunshine captures the essence of Morecambe and Wise at this pivotal point in their long comedy career.
It was released in 1971 on EMI’s Starline label and gathered together a selection of much-loved comic routines created by Dick Hills and Sid Green for the 1960s TV series.
The sketches are, with a few exceptions, fairly insubstantial.
Ton Up Boy seems an obvious inspiration for Dick Emery and Tape Recorder is an enchanting piece of domestic comic whimsy.
The remaining sketches such as Indians and Get It Right Corporal are so brief as to almost be one line gags. Harmless filler really but not the meaty chunks that Morecambe and Wise fans were after.
The meaty comedy chunks in thick marrowbone stand-up jelly were delivered by the comic songs.
As with the sketches, the songs are also written by Dick Hills and Sid Green, with Walter Ridley taking charge of musical duties.
They are without exception an absolute joy, full of charm and gentle subtle wit, much like Morecambe and Wise’s TV act.
They do not try to force themselves on the audience, instead relying on clever, well rehearsed repartee. Singing the Blues is a faithfully rendered pastiche of white man blues and there is also an early prototype version of Eric’s brilliant mangling of Grieg’s piano concerto to enjoy, a routine which was later resurrected for none other than the great Andre Preview.
I’d love to put the entire album up for you to listen, but for the sake of brevity and bandwidth, I have selected just one track.
Bring Me Sunshine was perhaps the obvious choice, played as the end credits rolled on their TV shows and very much the signature theme of Morecambe and Wise.
As ever though, I prefer to spin the more obscure and unappreciated tracks.
So to play us out, here is Song of Youth, a wonderful comic song full of domestic violence, hard drinking, promiscuity and lunacy.
Somewhere in here lurk the spirits of John Osborne and Les Dawson, with perhaps just a dash of Violet Carson. Bring us sunshine lads:

Miss Ivy Lilian Close (1890-1968).
Arthur Hacker (1858-1919).
Oil on canvas, 1908.
The actress Ivy Close was famous not as an actress in the first place, but as Miss Britain.
When the Daily Mirror launched the competition for The Most Beautiful Woman in the World in 1908, her father sent in photographs of Ivy. She was chosen and won the first prize. After that she appeared on some British stages before she was spotted for the film in 1912 where she became one of the first British movie stars. She made her film debut in 1912 with Dream Paintings, and after that followed a number of movies.
With Ivy Close also began a film dynasty which comprise four generations. Her son Derek Neame was a scriptwriter, her son Ronald Neame became a celebrated cinematographer and director. Her grandson Christopher Neame and her great-grandson Gareth Neame both became producers.

German singer and actor Peter Kraus (1939) was a teen idol in the 1950s and was nicknamed ‘the German Elvis’.
The son of the Austrian director and cabaret artist Fred Kraus had already singing and acting lessons during his school years. His first film was Das fliegende Klassenzimmer (1954, Kurt Hoffmann) based on the novel by Erich Kästner. He would play in several other films like Die Freundin meines Mannes (1957, Axel von Ambesser), Die Frühreifen (1957, Josef von Baky) and Der Pauker (1958, Axel von Ambesser). After his first single, a cover version of Little Richard's Tutti Frutti had been released in 1957, he became Germany's first rock'n'roll and teen star. Between 1957 and 1964 he had many hits including Susi Rock (1957), Sugar Baby (1958) and Tiger (1959). He would sell over 17 million records to date.
Although Peter Kraus appeared in only two ‘schlager’ movies with Conny Froboess - the big hits Wenn die Conny mit dem Peter (1958) and Conny und Peter machen Musik (1960) - they were considered the ‘dream couple’ of the German entertainment industry in the late 1950s. Other silly teenager comedies were Alle lieben Peter (1959, Wolfgang Becker) and Melodie und Rhythmus (1959, John Olden). He changed his music with new trends and toured with his schlagers like Schwarze Rose Rosemarie (1961) and such blues songs as Silvermoon and Sweety (1962) through Europe and the US. From the mid-1960s on he worked mainly for television. He made many tv musicals and even had his own tv shows, but he also worked as a record producer, scriptwriter and tv director. After 26 years he finally made a third film with Cornelia Froboess, the crime drama Der Sommer des Samurai (1985, Hans-Christoph Blumenberg). Since then he keeps on touring and making records such as Rock ’n Roll is Back (2004).

Established in 2001, Step Out cannot be narrowly defined as either a theatrical or a dance company. Their multidisciplinary works are characterised by the skilful use of poetic and aesthetic dramatic language to compose contemporary fables about the urban city.
The talented Malaysian playwright and director Koh Choon Eiow and a group of experienced Macao scriptwriters, directors and actors are joined by strong teams from Taiwan and Hong Kong to create A Gambling World, a new experience in Chinese theatre, presenting audiences with a provocative show about money, desire and dreams in the “Las Vegas of the East”.

Final Project:
You will be required to work on a project that includes photographing (a minimum of) five different individuals in the style of your choice. Once you have selected the style, keep it consistent throughout the series.
You will also need:
1. an establishing shot (an image that tells us something about your idea. For example if you were to do a series of chefs the establishing shot could be a close-up of a measuring spoons.)
2. a self-portrait, with a brief artist statement
Side Note: A lot of thing didn't come through like I had wanted. Had flakey models, then scored on a really expressive friend of a friend, and I got these new to me models that showed up and kicked ass, then I got severely sick and ended up in urgent care Monday, etc. But hopefully I was able to get domestic abuse portrayed like I wanted to. I decided not to try for sexual abuse because no matter how I tried it, it could be construed as porn, and that isn't something I wish to ever touch upon.
Artist's Statement:
Emmy's work is influenced by elements in the world that most people consider to be imperfect, broken, or weak. She builds upon imperfection because it is the only true indicator of character and beauty. She captures imperfection as the summit of her art. She is inspired by things that surround her every day, and uses them as a creative base. As the proud divorced, single mother of five closely spaced children she has no shortage of material from which to draw.
With her work, it is difficult to ignore the obvious experience and background Emmy has in graphic design. In addition to photography and graphic design, she is an entrepreneur, business ideas person, CEO of a small assessment corporation, movie scriptwriter, mother, and friend to all, even those pesky telemarketers if they happen to catch her on the telephone at home.
The most important thing to Emmy is the opportunity to create art. To be an artist, even an unknown one, is more important to her than going forth and finding notoriety. She feels the only way for her to create is to continue growing as an artist whether by introducing new techniques, new mediums, or a combination of both. Her primary focus is on creating art that reaches across boundaries. She creates art that speaks figuratively and demands its own place within its world. She tries to create art that will link people to her, and with her.
Italian postcard by Fotocelere.
Eleuterio Rodolfi (1876-1933) was an Italian actor, director and scriptwriter, who was highly active in the Italian silent cinema. For Ambrosio, Rodolfi acted in some 95 films of which some 80 ones were directed and scripted by himself. Many of these were comedies interpreted by Rodolfi together with actress Gigetta Morano, with the two acting and becoming known as ‘Gigetta’ and ‘Rodolfi’. In contrast to the previous anarchist farces by Cretinetti and others focused on speed and havoc, entitled as ‘comiche’ in Italian, the comedies with Gigetta and Rodolfi were true ‘commedie’, so more situational, boulevardier, less speedy, and often hinting at forbidden fruits and voyeurism.
Eleuterio Rodolfi aka Rodolfo Rodolfi was born in Bologna on 28 January 1876. He was the son of Giuseppe Rodolfi (1827-1885), a famous stage actor in the 19th century. He debuted on stage as "generico giovane" (generic young actor) with the company of Francesco Garzes. He then moved to other important theatre companies, such as the one of Ermete Novelli. There he met Adele Mosso, who worked as "seconda donna" (second woman) in the company. They married in 1895. In 1911 he moved over to cinema and was hired by the Ambrosio film company of Turin, where he became both actor and director. In the risqué comedy Acqua miracolosa (1914) Gigetta’s husband deplores that in their flat he hears children everywhere (the set is built up like a doll’s house) but he cannot get any. The family doctor (Rodolfi) has a secret affair with Gigetta. He advises the wife to go the wondrous wells – where she meets no other than the doctor. In the end everybody is happy: the husband has become father of twins, and the wife lifts a glass in which see a little doctor. Often in their comedies Morano and Rodolfi played together with a third actor, the portly little bourgeois Camillo De Riso, who frequently played Morano’s father, as in Un successo diplomatico (1913) and L’oca alla Colbert (1913).
Rodolfi also acted in and directed historical films, such as the super-production Gli ultimi giorni di Pompei (The Last Days of Pompeii, 1913), based on Bulwer-Lytton’s famous novel and a worldwide success. The film starred Fernanda Negri Pouget as the blind girl Nydia, Ubaldo Stefani as Glaucus and Antonio Crisanti as Arbaces. NB despite what IMDB tells, Mario Caserini had nothing to do with the film. The Turinese company Pasquali made a competing version at the same time, so competition was fierce. Moreover, in recent times the Ambrosio version is often confused with the later silent version of 1926, directed by Carmine Gallone and Amleto Palermi, and starring Victor Varconi, Maria Corda and Bernhard Goetzke, as Glaucus, Nydia and Arbaces. Among his films in the mid-1910s for Ambrosio were a few with the Polish actress turned Italian diva Elena/ Helena Makowska, such as Eva nemica (1916), and the D’Annunzio adaptations La Gioconda (1916) and Fiaccola sotto il moggio (1916).
In 1916 Rodolfi also started at Jupiter Film, where he shot some seven dramas – of which just one survives: Ah! Le donne! (1916), with Rodolfi. Armand Pouget and Mercedes Brignone. In 1917 he founded his own film company Rodolfi Film, with which he made films like the Shakespeare adaptation Amleto (1917), starring Ruggero Ruggeri, ‘monstre sacré’ of the Italian Belle Epoque, and also with Makowska as Ofelia, Pouget as the King, and Brignone as the Queen. In the early 1920s Rodolfi did various films with Mercedes Brignone, Lola Visconti Brignone and Pouget. Rodolfi’s company ceased activity around 1922, after which he did one last production for the Fert Pittaluga company: Maciste e il nipote d’America, a film in a completely different genre, and starring Bartolomeo Pagano and Diomira Jacobini, plus Pauline Polaire, Alberto Collo, Oreste Bilancia, and Mercedes Brignone. After that he withdrew from the set he returned to the stage. In the late 1920s he withdrew from the stage as well. The last years of his life Rodolfi spent in the city of a Brescia, where on 19 December 1933 he committed suicide and died.

Three to four million women in the United States are beaten in their homes each year by their husbands, ex-husbands, or male lovers. "Women and Violence," Hearings before the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee, August 29 and December 11, 1990, Senate Hearing 101-939, pt. 1, p. 12.
One woman is beaten by her husband or partner every 15 seconds in the United States. Uniform Crime Reports, Federal Bureau of Investigation, 1991.
About 1 out of 4 women are likely to be abused by a partner in her lifetime. Sara Glazer, "Violence, Against Women" CO Researcher, Congressional Quarterly, Inc., Volume 3, Number 8, February, 1993, p. 171.
Approximately 95% of the victims of domestic violence are women. Statistics, National Clearinghouse for the Defense of Battered Women, Ruth Peachey, M.D. 1988.

Battering occurs among people of all races, ages, socio-economic classes, religious affiliations, occupations, and educational backgrounds.
Fifty percent of all homeless women and children in this country are fleeing domestic violence. Senator Joseph Biden, U.S. Senate Committee on the Judiciary, Violence Against Women: Victims of the System, 1991.
A battering incident is rarely an isolated event.
Battering tends to increase and become more violent over time.
Many batterers learned violent behavior growing up in an abusive family.
25% - 45% of all women who are battered are battered during pregnancy.
Domestic violence does not end immediately with separation. Over 70% of the women injured in domestic violence cases are injured after separation.

Painting is the same, the medium that is used is not important, it is the mental expression behind the art work that gives a picture its spirit.

Fast Facts on Domestic Violence
Battering on women is the most under reported crime in America.
Domestic violence is the leading cause of injury to women between the ages of 15 and 44 in the United States; more than car accidents, muggings, and rapes combined. "Violence Against Women, A Majority Staff Report," Committee on the Judiciary, United States Senate, 102nd Congress, October 1992, p.3.
Police report that between 40% and 60% of the calls they receive, especially on the night shift, are domestic violence disputes. Carrillo, Roxann "Violence Against Women: An Obstacle to Development," Human Development Report, 1990.
Domestic violence is not only physical and sexual violence but also psychological. Psychological violence means intense and repetitive degradation, creating isolation, and controlling the actions or behaviors of the spouse through intimidation or manipulation to the detriment of the individual. "Five Year State Master Plan for the Prevention of and Service for Domestic Violence." Utah State Department of Human Services, January 1994.
