As I do from time to time, I go through my photo bins, today the one dedicated to Inès for the "studio" posing session, to add a few more photos to my albums.

For my 'Irène de Viviourès' series, Inès had to explore a range of varied moods depending on the evolution of the script, but I realized that my initial studio selection had only targeted her joviality - while the secret and reserved side of her character can also be expressive. So, here is a sample to correct this oversight.

Inès, whose first name is strangely similar to that of the character she plays in my first medieval series, was kind enough to give me a little extra time to present herself in a more contemporary light. Her elegance adapts to each era. For the occasion, I transformed my living room into an almost improvised photo studio...

I never thought my first sighting of a CP heritage unit would be in Arizona, but here we are and it's 2020. The script lettered CP 7013 leans into the tonnage as a DPU on BNSF's S-LPCSTO1-09L on the Gallup Sub. In a normal year I would be in Wisconsin on vacation right now shooting these along with WSOR, CN, and other CP stuff, seeing friends and family, and getting ready to abuse my liver at an annual multimedia railfan show. But again it's 2020. End of rant.

The Glagolitic script is the oldest known Slavic alphabet. It is generally agreed to have been created in the 9th century by Saint Cyril, a Byzantine monk from Thessaloniki. He and his brother, Saint Methodius, were sent by the Byzantine Emperor Michael III in 863 to Great Moravia to spread Christianity among the West Slavs in the area. The brothers decided to translate liturgical books into the Old Slavic language that was understandable to the general population, but as the words of that language could not be easily written by using either the Greek or Latin alphabets, Cyril decided to invent a new script, Glagolitic, which he based on the local dialect of the Slavic tribes from the Byzantine Salonika region.

After the deaths of Cyril and Methodius, the Glagolitic alphabet ceased to be used in Moravia, but their students continued to propagate it in the west and south. The Glagolitic alphabet was preserved only by the Croats and Slovenes.

I decided to dig out the full broadside view of the 6064. I didn't see much of this experimental paint job and it didn't stick around the roster too long. July 12, 1998.
